Chapter Six

Kayla's Pov
We go to where Izzy told us to meet her. We look around for her and then go up the stairs. There she is

"Izzy" Alec says

"I got your text, where are we exactly" Alec asks and Izzy removes herself from leaning against the wall. We then start walking

"If we go back there, we come up into the basement of the Hotel Dumort. Perfect, right? We distract the vamps, Clary and Jace have time to find Simon." Izzy says

"Okay" me and Alec say

"Okay? It was hard work interrogating Meliorn to get this intel"

"Great job Izzy" I say

"You have faerie dust on your dress. And I hate being the distraction." Alec says

"I couldn't agree more with Alec" I say

"I don't" Izzy says
"You know, you'd be a lot happier if you weren't so freaking repressed. Alec? Hello" Izzy says but Alec ignores her and keeps walking forward behind me. Izzy gives up signing and follows us.

However not much longer she speaks up.

"You're really not gonna talk to me, are you?"

"That's because you have no idea what you're talking about."

"You have feelings, whether you like 'em or not, Alec."  She says talking about how he feels about Clary.

Me and Izzy both know he feels kinda hatred towards her and some jealousy. Because he thinks she will take Jace, his best friend away from him. Plus he also doesn't trust her due to her being Valentine's daughter.

"This is not the time or the place, Izzy." Alec says

It's typical of Alec not wanting to let others know about his feelings. Or even talk about them.

"I don't know. Looks pretty smooth so far" she says

We climb up the latter we come to. We keep walking and eventually come to this door.

"This must be the way" Izzy says and opens the door. Standing there is a group of vampires and they start growling and hissing. They come running to the door. We quickly close it leaning up against it.

"Well not that smooth" Izzy says

"Any day now" I say to Alec

"Yeah if you hold the door still it might be a lot easier" he says taking his stele trying to draw a rune on the door.
"It's not taking it"

I grab Izzy's seraph blade I lean off the door going to a pipe. I cut it off and then place it through the door handle.

"Whoever said, "The pen is mightier than the sword," was an idiot." I say

"When your right, your right" Alec says and we start walking away backing up

"Do you think they know where we are" Izzy says

"That's the idea right" Alec says

The vamps are trying their best to get through the door. They start putting their hand through the crack. It's only a matter of time before they get out.

"How long do you think we have to distract them for" I ask

"Ten more minutes" Izzy says
