Kayla's Pov
The Clave members lead us to where the trail is being held. Magnus followed behind us.

The Inquisitor was sitting in a big fancy chair facing everyone. On one side in the front row was the ones who were prosecuting us, which is Lydia. The other side is where we sat. Then behind us was a crowd of mixed people who came to see and hear the trail.

Me and Izzy to our seats, while Magnus went to swear to the soul sword. Magnus stood there in front of the sword on one side while a silent brother stood on the other side.

"Will I survive if I touch it?" Magnus asks before rapping his hands around the sword

"If you tell the truth." The Inquisitor says. Magnus takes another breath for rapping both hands around the sword

"By the power of this sword, do you swear to defend your client with integrity and honesty?" The silent brother asks

"No argument from me on that" Magnus says and he let's go. The silent brother goes and stands next to the Inquisitor while Magnus stayed standing.

"Make your case, warlock." The Inquisitor says

"My case is simple. It is true that Isabelle Lightwood and Kayla Wayland acted against the orders of the Clave by trying to free the Seelie, Meliorn. But they did not act against the interests of the Clave. Preventing the forced questioning and possible death of a Seelie may have saved the Accords."  Magnus says starting to make his case for us

"We're not here to speculate what might have happened if the defendant hadn't interfered." The Inquisitor says

"You mean what might have happened if they hadn't stopped the Silent Brothers from torturing a Seelie?" Magnus asks

"I await a valid argument. Do you have one?"  The Inquisitor asks becoming a little impatient.

"What you really want is the Mortal Cup. My client doesn't have it. Since this whole proceeding isn't about what it's really about, I move to have this case dismissed." Magnus says

"You're out of order" she says

"No. This whole thing is out of order. It's not Kayla's or Isabelle's fault. It's the Cup! Put the Cup on trial!"  Magnus says and then comes and sits down next to us.

After this it was Lydia's turn, she called Izzy to the stay to testify first. Izzy got up from her sit and sat down in the chair to the right of the Inquisitor.

"You have led us to believe that you and Kayla alone carried out this operation. But Clary Fairchild was seen near the City of Bones that night." Lydia says

"Maybe she was out for a walk." Izzy says not cracking

"And you expect us to believe that you two distracted the guards, and escaped with the prisoner on your own?" Lydia asks

"Pretty slick, right?" Izzy says and turns to look at the Inquisitor

"I suggest you think about how slick it would be when Valentine uses the Mortal Cup to raise an army of rogue Shadowhunters."  The Inquisitor says to Izzy

"I don't want Valentine to succeed." Izzy says to the Inquisitor

"Well, that's the first sane thing I've heard from you." She says back at her
