Chapter Thirteen

Kayla's Pov
Me, Clary, and Jace walk through the front door while Izzy and Alec stay back a bit.

"So, I was promised a great plan"

"We'll head up towards the vault. Alec and Izzy are handling the rest. All we have to do is wait for their signal...and grab the Cup." I say and we stop in front of the elevator pressing the button and soon the doors open. It was a cop standing there. We quickly move to the side hiding. He looks up and stares for a second at the spot we were at before walking out.

"He's on our side" Clary says

"You sure? Isn't that the line he used when he kidnapped you?" Jace says as we go to get on the elevator and he presses the stop bottom on the elevator.

"Good point. What now? We're supposed to climb the elevator shaft and waltz in the vault unnoticed" she says

Now, why didn't I think of that?" Jace says and lifts up one of the ceiling panels

"Wait, you're kidding, right?" Clary asks after she gets done laughing

"Remember the binoculars?" He asks her

"Yeah"

"This one's a Nyx rune. It's like night vision. You can copy mine" he says pulling his shirt down to show to rune.

"You got it?" I ask

"Yeah. Why do I need night vision?" Clary says taking her jacket off

"You'll see" Jace says

Clary takes out her stele and begins tempting to draw the run on her back on her right side. But she realized she couldn't do it by herself.

"Um... " she says looking back at us

"Feel free to ask for help" Jace says

He then wakes over putting his hand over hers. He begins drawling the rune and she try's to deal with the pain as best as she can.

"I, um... I think I can take it from here." She says

"Where's the fun in that?" Jace says

Watching these two really makes me wanna throw up or gag. Not because they are ugly. But because they're flirting but won't do anything about it. It's obvious they like each other.

We are standing around in the elevator waiting for the lights to go off.

"I think you messed something up" Clary says

"Really? No, I didn't" Jace says

"Then why isn't it working?" She asks

"It is" Jace replies and just then the lights shut off and a alarm starts sounding.

"That's the signal" I say

"Whoa" Clary says

"Right? Going up." Jace says
