Chapter 37: Cheated

Before going to work and while I was eating my breakfast, I stalked all of his social media accounts. Noong naghiwalay kami ay naging active na siya lumabas. I also see the girls who tags him on his pictures. Ang haharot pa ng captions! Hindi ba niya iyon nakikita? Most of the tag pictures were always from Zoe! Paano kaya sila nagkakilala? Ginawa ba ni James 'iyong ginawa niya sa akin para magustuhan siya ni Zoe? Linigawan ba niya si Zoe? Are they really just friends? Parang hindi naman! They might be more than friends! As usual, in denial lang sila pareho.

God, Nadine! Why are you so hooked with them? You should let them have their own lives already. Mag move on ka na! Damn it! Parang lahat ng nararamdaman ko para sa kanya'y bumabalik. Like I still feel giddy about him since he's done a lot of sweet things for me. Also, because there is a part of me that I'm hoping we could still rekindle the love we had. Like he became stuck in my system that's why I couldn't move on or I couldn't accept the fact that we broke up. Why won't someone slap me from reality! God, I'm hating myself even more.

"Ready for work?" Kelly asked while eating a piece of cookie.

"Sasama ka sa amin?" I asked while fixing some of the folders I'll bringing.

"Yup! I'm taking a day off again! At tsaka, gusto ko tignan 'iyong mga tao sa paligid! Alam mo na!" She said wiggling her brows like I know what she's talking about.

"The workers are fine there, Kelly. Binabantayan ko naman si Enzo. He's really loyal to you unlike some other people." I said and she laughed.

"Okay, I'll be nice! Slight lang ah." She said and drank something.

"Kilala mo ba yun client natin ngayon?" I asked Enzo when he left from Kelly's room.

"Oh yeah! You sure about getting it?" He asked.

"Oo naman! Bakit? May problema ba? Wala naman diba?" Sabi ko sa kanya.

"Okay." He just simply said so we left after.

Iyon ang pinaka unang meeting namin para sa araw na 'iyon. A client's from New York who'll be raising a Hotel around Manhattan.

"Sir Enzo, Miss Nadine, your client is already here and ready for the meeting." Angie, Enzo's secretary said.

"Ang aga naman." Enzo said looking at his watch.

"It's okay, Enzo. I'm ready." I said fixing my folders.

"Sali ako ah!" Singit na sabi ni Kelly.

"Of course, babe. Let's go." Enzo said holding her hand as they walked inside the conference room.

A guy on a suit was standing and looking at the view from the glass windows.

"I have to be early since I'll be looking for something later." He excused and looked at us.

Shit.

It's him.

"It's fine, James." Enzo says and looked at me while he was sitting down beside Kelly who was beside me.

Ang paguusapan lang naman dito ay kung ano ang gusto niyang structure and designs na ako ang bahala doon. Hindi ako makatingin sa kanya dahil hindi ko kaya iyong itsura niya. He looked so professional and high. Iba na talaga.

"I want the hotel to be grand looking. Five star type." He said and explained it further.

I took down notes of what he wanted for the interiors. I'll not just be handling the room but I'll be handling every design of the hotel. Fuck, this work is heavy.

"I hope your designers are really efficient here, Enzo." He said smiling.

"Of course. Nadine here is the Head of the Architectural Department." Enzo introduced.

"And she is?" James asked pertaining on Kelly.

"I only have a restaurant here in Paris. Mayroon din si Maynila handled by my family." Sabi naman ni Kelly.

Kelly knew James. James knew Kelly. Maybe James thought that Enzo was my boyfriend already or... Whatever...

"Talaga? Do you mind if I can have a taste test? Ikaw nalang ang restaurant sa hotel." He suggested.

"That's a great offer, James. Schedule mo nalang dito kay Enzo." She said and stood up so I also stood up and was about to leave.

"Nadine, we have to talk about what I want, remember?" He said looking at me, grinning.

I only nodded and sit down.

"So, boyfriend mo ba iyong Enzo?" He asked seriously.

"No. Boyfriend ni Kelly." I answered.

"I thought we're going to talk about business?" I suddenly said.

"Nope. I want talk about us."

"Wala nang tayo, James. May gagawin pa ako! Can we talk about this another time?!" Pasigaw kong sabi.

"Fucking time! I've had enough of waiting! Fuck your work, I don't care! Gusto kita makausap because you left me hanging! Sinabi ko sa'yo na kaibigan ko si Zoe! I wasn't cheating on you. Baka ikaw? You're with Adam, right?" He said

It wasn't my fault! How dare he accuse me of cheating. We weren't together when I dated Adam! Siya naman ang may kasalanan.

"It's important to bring Zoe to your unit? Gaano ka importante, James? Importante na hayaan nalang may makasakit na iba? I dated Adam when we ended! Tapos na tayo! I only tried dating Adam to forget you!" I yelled.

"Mahal na mahal kita at hindi kita kayang saktan! You thought I was cheating on you because I was spending a whole day with Zoe? Nagdududa ka kung gaano kita ka mahal! Ang kitid ng utak mo! I was with her because of business!"

"Hindi mo man lang tinanong sa akin muna!"

"She introduced herself as your girlfriend, James! Ano ang gusto mong gawin ko?"

I sobbed. That was it. He broke my heart again.

"Nadine-"

"When Zoe answered your phone halos masira yun buhay ko." I said wiping my tears.

"I'm sorry, baby. I didn't mean to say that-" He said while hugging me and kissing my forehead. He was showering me with kisses in my forehead but it won't help.

"Bitawan mo ko." I said. He did what I exactly wanted.

"Nadine-"

"You cheated. Business? Sa unit mo ba 'iyang business na 'yan? And how important is it? Iyong wala ka ng pake sa akin?" I said. "Hindi mo alam iyong pinagdaanan ko rito! I tried so hard to focus with my studies pero di ko magawa! I had to have extension classes and do summer classes to pass kasi nga scholar lang ako! You almost ruined my dream! But I did not stop, I did not give up on my dream just because you gave up on us! I'm really tired with arguing you already so can you please stop already." I continued and walked out. Leaving him there.

As I left the room, I quickly went to my office to contact Adam. Maybe he could lighten up my mood.
