Chapter 47: Cold

Isa lang ang hinihiling ko nang umiyak at naging malungkot ako kagabi... It's to go back to Paris again. Where everything was normal. But, I also said that I shouldn't escape my problems and just face the consequences. Today, I have another meeting with the Team and we're finally gonna start something for the hotel. Pupunta kami ngayon sa site at aasikasuhin ang mga kakailanganin pa. Of course it didn't scare me since Enzo and Kelly were with me but the thought of him seeing there just aches my heart.

"Late na tayo!" Sambit ni Kelly.

I quickly gathered my things and went to the site. Kung may isang bagay na kinakagalit si James tungkol sa opisina, iyon ay attendance. He hates people who are really tardy or even doesn't meet the deadline. Kaya todo effort ako dito dahil ayokong mabigo siya. Mabilis naman kaming nakarating sa site at nandoon na silang lahay except for James. The teams were chatting while waiting for us while the construction workers were just sitting down.

"Wala pa si Big Boss?" Nagtatakang tanong ni Ara sa akin.

"Maybe he's busy with something else." I just answered.

Hindi ko alam bakit late siya ngayon. But he's probably with Zoe again.

"Let's just wait for a while." Enzo said.

Nagintay lang kami doon at umupo. Kelly, being the active and hyper one was chatting with some of the team. Nakatulala lang ako doon dahil sa mga iniisip ko tungkol kay James at Adam. My motto in my current life is: Fight. Your. Feelings. Hindi ko puwede saktan si Adam dahil lang sa maling akala ko. My stupidity went ahead that's why I said yes to him. I should've realized that I love someone and I shouldn't use someone to let my attention for James left aside.

"Nadine!" Tawag sa akin ni Ara. "You're spacing out." Ara says as a matter of factly.

"I'm just thinking of things." Sambit ko.

"Things nga ba? Or people?" She doubtly says.

"Both." I honestly answered.

"You're together with Adam yet or mind isn't thinking of him and your heart isn't beating for him. Ano ba!?" She says smirking.

"Di ko na alam. I'll just go with the flow. Maybe this is actually for me." I simply said.

It's done already. I couldn't just refuse to Adam again.

"If you're fighting your feelings, better be strong. Hindi kasi healthy 'iyan. Especially, you're working with him. You almost see him everyday." Ara said.

"Paano mo pala nalaman na naging kami ni Adam?" I asked curiously.

"Sa tingin mo hindi niya 'iyon kwinento sa amin? He was bugging us the night before to surprise you." Natatawang sambit ni Ara. "He was so happy when you said yes. Parang ikakasal ang loko." She added and laughed.

I felt so guilty. The way Ara shares about Adam of how happy he is breaks my heart. But, I thought again... I couldn't break two people that I love the most. I realized that I made the most wrong choice ever. I feel like disappearing to this world.

"Ikaw, Ara? Wala ka bang balak maghanap ng lovelife-" I asked smiling but she interrupted me with her irritated voice

"Wala akong time diyan! I can't believe people are rushing to love these days. You can't rush love! Hindi porket ay may mutual understanding na kayo ni crush ay kayo na. It takes a process, damn it! At hindi porket nag i love you na siya ay siya na ang the one." Bitter na sabi niya.

"Bitter!" I said laughing.

"Basta... Anyways, pick the choice that will make you the happiest. Lagi naman may masasaktan na isa pag pumili. You can't have two. Iisa lang puso natin." She says and smiled. After that, she quickly went back to the friends she made today. Ara was genuinely friendly.

After a few minutes, he finally came!

"Big boss is here!" Sabi ni Kelly na nakangisi sa akin. I looked down.

"I'm sorry I'm late. I did something important." He says. He suddenly started discussing what the team will do today. Kami, mga designers ay maghahanap muli ng materials at kailangan din namin mag finalize ng mga supplies para sa disensyo. Kelly's team will train a nearby culinary school. Enzo will be busy here in the site while Ara will be helping me. Nagkanya kanya kaming gawain. We were halfway done with the outputs and all. I told Ara to handle the finances since James might need it. Mahilig kasi ang board na may finance na kinalaman. They want to stick to the budget or if not, expand it.

I was busy looking at Adam's text to me because there were numerous texts.

Adam:
Take care, love. Don't stress yourself.

I found a japanese resto and maybe we should try it later? :)

Me:
Thank you. We did so much things today. :(

Pleaaaaase. Craving for sushi.

Adam:
I'll fetch you. The site or the office?

Me:
Site

Adam:
Alright. Love you. 😘 I hope you still have the energy later :( I know how tired you are from work. :)

Me:

"Nadine." He coldly said.

I turned myself on him. He was staring at me with really cold eyes piercing through me.

"Yes?" I asked.

"Are you done?" He asked.

I shook my head. Mukhang nagalit ata dahil ka text ko ngayon si Adam. I admit it wasn't the right time to text but I don't want Adam to feel I was ignoring him.

"We're still working, right?" He asked seriously.

I nodded and hid my phone and continued the work. Siniko ako ni Ara bigla.

"Wag mo galitin." Bulong na natatawa ni Ara.

"I didn't intend to make him mad-" I defended.

"Wag mo ipakita na pinagpalit mo na siya kung di mo naman talaga pinagpalit." Ara said smiling again.

Ewan ko sa'yo, Ara.

"Stop it, Ara." I sighed. "I want to finish this already so I could go-"

"Go to your date?" Singit ni James.

Napatahikik ako. "If you're in a hurry, you can go. While we're all working here." He said coldly.

Nakakahiya. I really felt humiliated. Ano nalang ang masasabi ng iba? I'm irresponsible?

"So I could go home." I just finished.

"I'm not kidding, you could go." He said seriously.

"I'm not yet finish with this-"

"You don't need to. Ara can handle it." He said.

I get it. This is revenge for giving him pain last night because he knew about Me and Adam.

"Hindi ako nagmamadali." I said firmly to make him stop.

"Baka lang. You have a date, right? Nakakahiya kung malate ka pa." He said shrugging. I looked down. Ara looked at me and whispered that I should just continue doing my work and not mind him

I get that he's cold but I didn't want it to happen.
