Patrick's POV

Pete seems terrified as the day he's going going to school gets closer which is worrying but I don't fully mind. He starts talking more and holding onto me even more then usual which I very much enjoy. I feel bad that I'm happy about him being scared but any excuse to be with him is good for me. I'm just glad he trusts me enough now to spend time with me when he's worried and freaking out.

On Monday we get some clothes that aren't the horrible white hospital clothes which is the best thing ever. I happily pull on black jeans and a grey and white hoodie which feels so much more like me. I even get converse and a phone that they can use to track us and we can use to call Brendon and Ryan.

Pete's not dressed when I get to his room so I throw his similar clothes at him and bounce on his bed a little "Come on sweetheart, I promise it'll be fine, I won't let  anything bad happen"

Pete looks like he's on the verge of freaking out but nods so I turn away and let him get dressed. He looks adorable in the normal clothes because the hoodies way too big so he has the cutest sweater paws. I reassure him a few more times before he takes my hand and we walk out.

While we walk to meet Brendon and Ryan Pete whispers that he feels really self conscious so I reassure him again. After about 10 times of me saying he doesn't look fat or ugly he finally seems to believe me.

Brendon and Ryan are waiting outside the hospital so Pete goes to see Dr Williams first. She gives him a school bag and a couple of tips before he hugs her tight then comes back to me. He seems really embarrassed about it but I think it's adorable how close they are and don't say anything about it.

When we get outside Brendon shouts at us to hurry up and waves his Starbucks at me while we get in. It's some weird overly sugary tea so I tease him about what a cliche white girl he is while Ryan drives. It's such a weird feeling to be away from the hospital and I can't believe we're actually allowed to do this. I guess I picked the right boy to fall in love with if we get special treatment like this.

The schools only 10 minutes away so me and Brendon sing loudly to the radio while I hold Pete's hand. His palms sweating and he's shaking but I hold him close and try t make him laugh. We're officially doing this now so panicking won't do any good. We just have to throw ourselves in headfirst and see how it goes. Stressing out is only going to make things worse because he'll be too panicked to enjoy anything.

When we get there there's people everywhere who don't even seem to care about 4 guys walking into school. Pete's so young he'll only be a sophomore unlike me who's be senior and Brendon and Ryan who already graduated.

As we walk into school Pete walks close to my side but let's go of my hand. Walking into school clutching someone's hand isn't the best way to start but it's obvious he still needs support. We go see the principal who gives him his timetable then Brendon and Ryan go get coffee while I take Pete to class. I'm supposed to be staying with him all day because I'm the youngest of us 3 and he seems to trust me a lot. This is a different school than I went to but it seems the same which doesn't bring back good memories.

Pete has math first and when we get there the teacher is luckily a woman and gives him a smile which he shyly returns. Quickly we find seats at the front of the class but the opposite side of the room from the door. Now people won't pass us and touch him as they walk in but he's still by the front close to the teacher in case he needs it. The desks are in groups of 2 so I can sit on the other side of him, cutting him off from other people as much as I can.

Pete's still shaky so I lean my shoulder against his. I know he likes to be touching but holding hands is too obvious and we don't want to draw attention to ourselves. To distract him I lean over and ask "Are you feeling ok? When was the last time you were in school sweetheart?"
