My head pounds in my skull, making my heart beat quicken. I'm still confused from last night. I have now convinced myself I was dreaming after I had hit my head.

My Uncle walks into my room with a tray of breakfast and a mug of hot chocolate. He sits with me as I eat breakfast and he constantly checks I'm okay.

Jumping out of the bath, I pull on one of Steve's hoodies and my jeans. Then, I sit on the bed and twist the necklace in my fingers.

"Hello, Hattie."

I flinch at my name, the voice icy and full of mischief. Looking up, my eyes meet his.

"No. You died."

"I saw you last night after you rubbed that necklace." He points out.

It wasn't a dream. I did see him.

"The necklace? So, when I rub it you visit?" I quiz.

"Yes. I am not really dead, Child. I made the illusion I had died."

I erupt, I punch his chest repeatedly in anger.

"I thought you were dead! I cried because you had died!" I scream.

Loki holds my wrists, his fingers curling around my fists. I follow up to his face, he smiles slightly and his eyes sparkle.

"I had to. You would have been killed if I hadn't and my brother wouldn't have let me see you. It's better this way." He explains.

"But, Thor thinks your dead." I argue.

"If he knew I was alive, he would take you away from me. I don't want you taken away again." He whispers.

Standing on my tiptoes, I wrap my arms around his neck and hide my face in his shoulder. He holds me tightly against his chest, placing one hand on my back and the other on my head.

"I'm so happy you're alive!"

There's a knock at the door. Loki instantly pulls away from our hug. His eyes dart to the door.

"I've got to go. Remember: your necklace." He smirks and then dissappears.

I open the door to see Steve carrying some textbooks, his eyes wide and a smiling dancing across his lips.

"What are these?"

"Your teacher sent them for you." He explains.

I gesture him inside and Steve places the books on my desk with a thud. I glare at him with confusion. There's about twenty thick textbooks!

"Why?"

"I don't know. Your Uncle must have told him about you staying in your bedroom."

"Dammit."

After two hours of looking through the textbooks and taking notes, I have a massive headache. The letters blur together on the pages and I can't look at them without my eyes hurting. Standing up from sitting on the floor, my legs ache. I decide to risk the rules and walk out of my dorm. Quietly closing the door behind me, I trudge down the halls and through corridors. Skipping down the numerous flights of stairs, I reach the courtyard.

The fountain trickles water as I sit on the edge of the stone. Pulling out my necklace from under my jumper, I rub my fingers over the circle of blue. I can't let my Uncle think that Loki is dead. At the same time, I pull out my phone and text my Uncle to come to the courtyard.

"You summoned me?"

Looking up, I can't stop the smile on my face. I wrap my arms around his waist and hug him tightly. He chuckles against my ear and holds me close, brushing his hands through my hair. After a minute, I pull back from the hug and look up at him.
