Jax sat in the pokemon center thinking of plan to the face the gym leader and their water pokemon. Jax decided that Asura would be one of his choices but couldn't decide who would be his second pokemon it was between kera, Jessie, and his newly caught Staryu who he had just gotten healed up. He decided that Jessie would be his choice. This angered Kera because her and Jessie had always battled together and she didn't know how Jessie would do on her own. Jessie seeing this challenged her to a 1 on 1 battle surprising everyone including Kera. Jessie said that whoever wins gets to battle at the gym the next day. Kera agreed to this hoping to protect Jessie from getting hurt. All Jax could do was let them battle as they made their way to the battlefield Jessie was thinking over on a strategy to beat Kera proving that she was ready. As they reached the battlefield the doors opened and 2 trainers walked out to get their pokemon healed after a good battle. Jax shuts the doors as they all walk in. Jax lets Staryu out of its PokeBalls and it looks around seeing it is no longer on mount moon anymore. Staryu fires out swifts in random directions as a few head towards the twins Jax blocks it with a swift in his starmie form. Staryu sees Jax turn back into a human and walks towards it. He kneels down holding one hand out asking if Staryu wants to become stronger. Staryu takes his hand and nods yes. Jax decides that the Staryu would be known as Ashton on his team. Soon after the twins begin their battle. Jessie starts it off with dig to hide itself from view. Kera seeing this uses Shadow Ball on the hole forcing Jessie to come up behind her and use shadow claw. Kera is knocked back and begins to charge up another shadow ball when the doors to the battlefield fly open. To come in arguing on who is better as a trainer. Jax stops the battle between the twins as the 2 trainers go over to the second battlefield. The two introduce themselves to Jax as Eddie Glass and Rashad Keenan. Jax puts the twins on the bench on the side of the battlefield and asks to referee the battle without paying any attention they agree and Jax says it will be a 3 on 3 battle if it is OK with Eddie and Rashad. They say yes as Eddie sends out Vulpix and Rashad sends out diglett. Rashad makes the first move by having his diglett use ariel ace hitting Vulpix dead on but Vulpix holds its ground and Eddie laughs saying that this is not a playground. Vulpix uses fire spin to trap diglett. Rashad acts surprised and then begins to laugh as diglett appears outside of he fire vortex. He has diglett use dig to put Vulpix in a hole and then use magnitude causing Vulpix to faint. They return their pokemon to their PokeBalls with Rashad having won the first battle of 3. Next Eddie sends out Lucario and Rashad sends out Garchomp. Rashad makes the first move once again with Garchomp using dragon pulse to push Lucario back but instead Eddie has Lucario use Aura sphere to block it then uses metal claw to attack Garchomp. Rashad thinks quickly and has Garchomp use dragon claw to block. As the pokemon struggle back and forth they begin to charge up their attacks and hit each other knocking them both out. With the second battle being a draw they move on to the final match. They each throw oddly colored PokeBalls showing the each have a Mewtwo with weird pendants around their necks. The trainer's smile and activate odd gems on their wrists causing the pokemon to change form and evolve into separate pokemon with Eddie calling his Mewtwo X and Rashad calling his Mewtwo Y. Jax can only look on in horror as he knows who the 2 trainers are. Eddie glances over at Jax and notices that he is the experiment that escaped from the lab 10 months ago. Eddie has his mega Mewtwo X attack Jax with a powerful aura sphere only for it to be blocked by the twins protect. Asura comes out of her PokeBalls and uses aura sphere to knock out both mewtwo. Both trainers return their Mewtwo to their PokeBalls and try to capture Jax. Asura readies another pair of aura spheres. They back off and say they will be back for him. They run off leaving Jax and his pokemon in the battle room. Jax thanks Asura and her daughter's for their help. The next day Jax and Asura walk over to the gym to challenge the gym leader.
