Ch. 10 Be ye friend or faux

Jax had a hard time sleeping and didn't know why. Was it because of the room he was in or because of Blake's rage?  He got up and walked out to get some fresh air. Asura silently followed not letting Jax know she was there. While Jax was walking down a hall that lead to the battlefield Asura sensed someone around the corner with evil intentions against Jax. She quickly fired an aura sphere around the corner hitting the man and bringing Jax back to his senses. The man jumped out to attack Jax but by then it was too late he was back to his old self and hit the man straight in his stomach knocking him over. Jax saw it was a team rocket grunt. Jax quickly pinned him to the ground with​ a leech seed and questioned what his motives were. The grunt scared for us life told Jax that he was hired to kidnap him so he would be disqualified from the tournament. Jax's arm slammed down next to the grunts head showing it had transformed into a rhyperior. Before he could ask who sent him officer Jenny came and took the grunt to the station. Jax turned and looked at Asura who was a few steps away and scared of what might happen if he hadn't held back and if that was her instead of the grunt. She slowly walked towards him seeing the fear in his eyes for what he had done. He hugged his riolu hoping she would not leave him for what she had seen. She however didn't understand why he had hugged her but she embraced it. Jax then challenged her and Blake to a battle after the tournament. She agreed and they went back  to the room for some rest. The next morning the new pairs were chosen and Jax was teamed up with a man who went by the name shadow star and Tammy was teamed up with Selena. Jax soon walked over to shadow star who immediately revealed that he only used  a Greninja which surprised Jax because most people use at least three pokemon. The announcer said that the matches would start in about an hour and a half. In that time Jax had to decide which pokemon he would use out off Jessie, Asura, and Kurama. Shadow star said to use the riolu because he seemed to have the strongest bond with it. Soon the second round started with the first match started. Jax and shadow star sent out Greninja and Asura making their opponents laugh and send out an Ivysaur and an Altaria to battle. Jax smiled and had Asura do her usual thing and move so fast she becomes invisible. The Greninja used dig to hide while the others were busy. Asura fired two Aura spheres at the distracted pokemon and Knocking both of them to the ground where Greninja hitting both of them. The bracelet on his wrist began to glow with the fightium z  and used all out pummel knocking out Ivysaur. The Greninja used water shuriken on Asura nearly hitting her before she used aura sphere on both Greninja and Altaria knocking both of them out. Soon after Jax and Asura walked away to a secluded area to train with Blake. Shadow star soon showed up to apologise for what his Greninja did but Jax could tell that he planned it from the start. Shadow star challenged Jax to a battle for the right to be the true winner. They agreed on a one on one battle. Jax used Asura and shadow star sent out Greninja. Asura decided that she could handle this by herself. Jax knew she had the advantage with her speed and type. Asura used a single attack to finish the battle. Shadow star accepted his defeat but his Greninja grew angry because he missed his daughter. Asura heard this and immediately thought of the Froakie they met before and told Jax. They let shadow star and Greninja know where they last saw her and they dropped out the tournament to go look for the Froakie.
