It's so cold outside. I had my black scarf wrapped around my neck and a grey coat.
"Why did I forget to bring gloves?" I asked myself looking at my hands.
Every breath I released was seen with my hazel eyes. The sun was not quite awake. There was a dark sky. The sound of car horns and sirens filled the air. With my book bag on my back it felt a little warmer. But with the school uniform, it did not make the coldness go away.
The short, dark blue skirt and a loose, white, button-up sweater are not the best clothes for winter.
The grass swayed back and forth in the soft, cold breeze that blew across the streets. I walked along the sidewalk looking down. I shivered fiercely and kept walking.
Winter in Minnesota was unbearable. But it is only early December, so it hasn't snowed yet. I pushed my hands in my coat pockets, trying to warm them up. A car passed me with a screech from the brakes as it turned the corner.
How nice it would be to ride in a car. I'm getting a little warmer just thinking about it.
My mother works hard and always has the car, so it's just me all the time.
My thoughts were interupted by a car horn behind me and I heard a splash. I'm drenched in water from head to toe from the puddles on the ground and I heard laughing as the dark red car drove away. I am now colder and wet.
I realesed a sigh and saw my breath in the cold air. I took my coat off and hung it over my arm. Being even more cold was better than being wet and cold. My black tie loosened as I took off the coat. I kept my scarf around my neck though; it did not get wet. I don't know who they were but I already don't like them.
I looked down as walking. My hair and face are wet. I took a deep breath in a looked up. I'm starting my Sophomore year and I am not looking forward to it.
I turned the corner and finally could see the highschool. After two years, you get used to seeing it. I walked through the football field towards the main building and walked inside. The cafeteria really changed.
It now had a little cafe and bigger room for tables. I walked through it and set my bag down on one of the tables. I felt my wet hair on my shoulder and shivered.
I looked over to where the bathrooms are. They always had towels in there. I picked up my bag and walked over to the girls restroom. I stared at myself in the mirror. Did I have to look so pale?
I reached for a towel on the cabinet and dried out my hair. I put it against my face and let it fall on the counter infront of me. I looked again in the mirror. My hair was now mostly dry and I didn't look like I went for a swim in the street puddles.
I decided to tie my hair back and check my back pack to make sure nothing got wet, even though it's water proof. I closed my bag relieved. I picked it up again and pulled it onto my back. My coat is still wet. I walk out of the bathroom with my wet coat clinging to the side of my shirt and skirt.
I walked through the halls of lockers and windows. I reached my locker and opened it with ease. I put my coat in the small space they give us and grab my jacket out of it.
I held my jacket in my hand and walked over to the window across the hall. As I look out it I see a limousines headlights.
