I woke up to Aunt Carrie walking through the door. I slept after I got home. She shivered and smiled at me.
"Its very cold outside!" She said closing the door and taking her gloves off.
"Is it still snowing?" I asked and yawned. I stood up and walked past the glass coffe table and over to the large window. I opened the black dark curtains so I could see outside.
"Yes, and pretty bad too." My aunt said. I heard her walk into the kitchen. I looked out the window to see what looked like a blizzard outside. I couldn't see two yards ahead from the window. I tried to see if I could see my aunts car. But all I saw was white snow. I looked back towards the street and could see a faint shadow.
At first there was a small one then two big ones. It was a little girl wrapped up in winter clothes, trying to catch the snow.
Her parents smiled at her. I looked at the scarf the girl was wearing. It was black with green stripes on it. It was just like the scarf I had. The little girl saw me and pointed. Then... she smiled and laughed.
"Hey Kori? What do you want for dinner tonight?" I heard Aunt Carrie call from in the kitchen. I jumped a little and turned towards the kitchen.
"Umm..." I trailed off as I looked back through the window. The little girl was gone and so were her parents.
"... I don't care as long as its good." I answered as I turned away from the window with wonder.

Dinner was pork and green beans. Nothing fancy. As we were done eating we heard the door open. Aunt Carrie stood up and went to go check the door. I heard a scream and I dropped the plate that was in my hand.
I ran into the living room and looked at my aunt. She was on the ground with her hand on her head. I looked up to see in the doorway... was my mother.
"Mom?!" I looked at her in surprise. She started to walk towards me.
"Come here you brat." She said. I paniced and ran up the stairs to my aunts room. She had a phone up there. I could here my mother running after me. I ran into Aunt Carries room. And shut the door behind me. I locked it quickly and went to look for the phone. The room was dark. I tried turning on the light but it didn't work. I looked around for the phone.
"Where is it? Where is it?!" I said looking around the room. I heard banging on the door. The phone was no where in sight. I ran into my aunts walk in closet and his myself behind the hanging clothes.
"Come on Kori! Im not gonna hurt you that bad." I heard my mom say as I heard the door open with a loud thud.
I covered my mouth so I wouldn't breath heavily. I heard her make her way over to the closet. She opened the door slowly letting moonlight poor through the door, alluminating her shadow.
"Its just like when you were little. You would always hide in the closet when you were scared. She rumaging through clothes. I heard police sirens outside and flashing lights came through the door.
My mom glared then she left the room silently. I heard my name being called but I didn't want to move. I then saw a light sneak through the door of the closet. It shined on my teared up face.
