I heard footsteps from the side and Caleb released me.

Grace was standing infront of us with a water bottle in her hand. She was crying and she threw the water bottle at me getting me all wet.

"Its not fair!" She yelled. I stood up and looked at her.

"I thought you were my friend Grace."

"No one would want to be friends with you! Just go kil-"

"No." I said.

"Poor Caleb must be so tired of you." She said still yelling.

She turned and looked at Caleb with sad eyes.

"Why do you like her! She's nothing! And she's never gonna be anything!"

"You shouldn't say poor. Poor does not describe Caleb at all." I glared at her.

"Kori..." I heard Caleb say.

"Did you not here what I said?!" She said in anger. Ignoring her I continued.

"You put him on some kind of a pedestal and yet... you don't even know who he is."

"Of course I do! He's a pop star! A hottie! And now a model! You just can't understand! That's what I hate about you!"

I pushed her hurtful words and glared at her even more.

"No... that's what he is. Who he is, includes his kind and generous, flirtatious, and funny personality. You shouldn't see him as "poor Caleb" when he lives a happy life. There is more to Caleb then any of the girls in this school can see. All you see him as is a famouse guy who has money. You treat him like he's the saddest person in the world. And that's not right!"

"Why you!" Grace said as she raised her hand and I closed my eyes waiting for pain on my cheek.

"Huh?!" I heard Grace say.
I opened my eyes to see Caleb infront of me with his hand on her wrist.

"Don't even try!" He threw her hand down and wrapped his arm around me.

"She's my childhood friend..." he looked at me and smiled, "and I will protect her no matter what."

"But! She didn't even know who you were!" She said.

He...lied to Grace?

"She didn't reconize me because we haven't seen each other in three years. Now stop hurting her! I'm tired of the games you kind of girls play. Stay away from Kori and me."

Graces eyes filled with tears once more.

She looked down and mumbled a bunch of "sorrys" before walking away.

"Caleb... why? Why did you lie?" I looked at him.

"Well we act like childhood friends don't we?" He smiled and grabbed my hand. I smiled back and we walked over to the bleachers to grab my stuff. We walked back inside and Caleb grabbed his stuff from his locker.

Everyone stared and was silent as we walked through the hallway to the front door. Once we got outside I shivered. I felt a coat being brought around my shoulders.

"Here... I have an extra one in my bag." He said as he pulled the other one out.

I smiled at him. I've only known him for four days and I already think we are best friends.

We got on the motorcycle and rode off. We went to the park.

"Why are we here?" I asked as he was helping me get off.
