I woke up with rays of sunlight in my face. I sat up and looked around the room. The curtains were open and the bedroom was full of light. I yawned and then sneezed.
"Oh yeah... I have a fever don't I?" I sighed a little.
I got up from the bed and opened the door. I stepped out into the hallway quietly. I looked into a half open door beside the room I was in. It was dark and it had a sleeping body in the bed.
I held back my cough and went down the stairs and into the living room. I looked at the clock, hanging from the brown papered wall.
"10:09" I said to myself. I went to a glass sliding door that lead into what seemed the backyard. I opened it slowly. I coughed again as I closed it.
I was so tired and hot. I looked at the pool and stepped towards it. I say at the edge and put my feet and legs in the water.
The water felt soothing against my legs and feet. I looked up at the morning sky. Blue... with white clouds scattered. I looked down at the water and saw a clear reflection of myself.
I wiped the cold sweat that dripped down my forehead away. I couldn't help but breath heavily. It is so hot.
"Maybe you should sit infront if a fan or something." I heard Caleb say behind me. I turned my head to look at him. He had bed hair and he had a glass of water in his hand. He sat down beside me and put his feet in the water.
"Here, you look like you need it." He handed me the glass.
"Thanks" I smiled and took a drink.
I set the glass down in between us and looked at my feet. They were underwater and from here, it looked like they were disfigured. Caleb put his hand on my head.
"Yah, your sick alright. Should you stay here for a while?" He asked.
I kept my head down and hesitated.
"No.. I will just go home. I have some stuff there that will get rid of my fever."
"Are you sure?" He looked at me worried. I smiled at him.
"Yah I'm sure. I'll be fine."
"Alright if you say so. But breakfast first." We both stood up and walked inside. Drying our legs off I got my now dry shoes on. We both walked into the kitchen and Caleb started to cook as I sat at the counter watching.
I didn't know he could cook.
He smiled at me as he caught me looking at him.
After getting done with the breakfast that Caleb made, I grabbed my clothes and my camera. I walked outside to see Caleb waiting and leaning on his bike.
"Thanks for letting me stay over." I said as he helped me on the bike.
"Yah it's no problem. I am your friend right?" He smiled back at me and started the bike.
We sped off through the streets. I had my hands on his shoulders and I looked at our surroundings. Brown and yellow grass with leaves scattered across the road. The trees were stripped from head to toe.
