You glared at the blue planet you were approaching. Separatist fleets were shooting at The Defender, but somehow, the cruiser got passed the blockade. As you exited the ship, the cold rain of Kamino instantly drenched you. You groaned as your entered the cloning facilities.

"I hate this place," you mumbled under your breath. The glowing white hallways brought back horrible memories of your past. It disgusted you that someone so close to you was the one who originally came up with the idea for the clones, regardless of how much you pleaded against it. "This is why I ran away," you thought. Your inside thoughts must have been showing on the outside because you felt a tap on your shoulder.

"Sir, are you okay?" Rex asked. Even though his helmet was on, you could still hear concern in his voice.

"Yes Captain, I'm fine. Thank You," you rushed to say as you picked up your pace. You didn't want to be away from Rex, but you wanted to be alone. When you started walking faster, you dropped something, but you didn't notice. Rex picked it up and went to give it to you, but you were too far for him to just walk to get to you, so he decided to tuck it into his gun pocket. But before he did, he looked at what you dropped. It was a picture. The picture was of a little boy and girl, and an older man. Rex figured the girl was you, but he didn't know who the little boy was. The older man looked familiar to him, but he didn't think much of it, and put it in his pocket until he would see you next.

Suddenly, the whole building shook and the attack alarms went off. There were clones running down the hallway to the main hangar. You followed them and saw what caused the shaking, a giant attack vessel smashed through the hangar doors. Droids were pouring out of the vessel as you approached the line of clones trying to hold them back. The hangar was dark, the only thing lighting it up was the gun fire and the glow of your lightsaber.

You couldn't tell what was falling faster, the number of clones or droids. Desperate, you used the force to remove one of the ceiling beams from the hangar and smash it on top of the attack vessel. That stopped the droids, for a while at least. Reports of attacks all over the city were coming to you, but the force told you to go to the DNA chamber. You ran there as fast as you could, but it wasn't exactly that close to you.

After running for what felt like forever, you finally arrived. To your horror, you saw Ventress. She slicing a clone down every second until there was one clone left. It was hard to see because it was so dark, but you could feel who it was. It was Rex. You charged Ventress as fast as you could as she was pulling her lightsaber back to slice Rex. Just as she was swinging it down, your lightsaber hit hers, inches away from Rex.

"Stupid Jedi," she hissed, getting into a lightsaber dual with you.

"Leave Rex! Go!" You commanded him. He hesitated at first, but eventually he listened. This was your first lightsaber dual in a very long time. You were nervous, but your master always told you how strong and powerful you were. His words helped guide you through the fight. Your goal was to push Ventress out of the building and onto a platform, where she could easily be shot by clones. Strike after strike she was moving further and further back. Before long, Anakin came in and helped you. Once Anakin joined, pushing Ventress back became very easy. She was finally on a platform, surrounded by both you and Anakin and dozens of clones.

"Execute her!" You screamed, pointing your lightsaber at her. Just as the clones aimed and shot, she jumped up, then into the oceans of Kamino. Seconds later, a small rescue ship emerged.

"Force!" you grumbled, attaching your lightsaber to your belt. "Alright Anakin, where are the droids now?" you asked in a very angry tone.

"Gone, the men held all of them!" Anakin replied, with a bit too much cheer than normal in his voice.

"Well you seem happy!" you laughed.

You were assigned to look for any injured in the barracks. It's not the assignment you wanted, but someone had to do it, and it was a task that would be too emotional for any of the clones to do.

"General!" you hear Rex say. He's running up to you from behind.

"Yes Captain?" you ask with some flirt in your voice, but then you noticed you two were alone. You ran to him and gave him a hug. Hugging him with all the armor on was definitely not too comfortable. Rex took his helmet off and tossed it on the floor. He hugged you back and planted a kiss on your forehead.

"Thank you for saving my life mesh'la," he whispered, pressing his lips against yours. "Wait!" he said in a remembering tone as he pulled back. "You dropped this earlier," he said, handing you a picture.

"Thank you, nulis!" you gasped, staring blankly at the picture.

"I'm assuming you are the girl in the picture, but who are the other two?" Rex asked as he sat down on a pile of fallen boxes.

You let your head lower for a second before answering him. "It's my family, Rex. It's my brother and my father."

It didn't take a Jedi to sense that you were upset. Rex reached to grab your hand and pulled you down next to him. "What's wrong?"

"I don't know my mother. My father has always me she ran away but I believe she was killed. I'm not sure why, but it's what I believe," you sighed, tucking the picture into your robe.

"At least you have parents, let alone a family," Rex said as he put his arm around you.

"Rex, I don't consider this a family anymore. We were ripped apart. My family was taken over. They mean nothing to me!" You almost cried to him, "I'm not even sure why I have that picture!"

He lifted up your chin with his finger, "If you want to talk about it, I'm here for you. That is what a boyfriend is for. Or at least that's what I think a boyfriend is for," Rex smiled.

You smiled upon his words, "Thank you Rex. It's not that I don't want to talk about it, it's just that," you stopped for a second, "it's a rough subject for me."

Rex grabbed both your hands and looked into your eyes, "You can tell me when ever you are ready, and even if that day never comes, I understand completely."

You collapsed into his arms and tried to hold back tears, but it was no use. Tears were streaming down your face. Jedi weren't supposed to cry, but you always thought you were unlike most Jedi, so you didn't think much of your tears.

You and Rex went to meet up with Anakin to leave Kamino. He raised an eyebrow as you two approached him.

"Cute couple, ugly kids," he joked, pointing to the both of you. You smacked his chest really hard.

"ANAKIN!" you yelled, "I just like getting to know the leaders I work with. Unlike some people who think they have complete control of everything," you hummed. Anakin crossed his arms, stomped his foot and looked away.

"You know, I could say the same exact thing to you and someone else," you sarcastically added. Anakin rolled his eyes and boarded the Defender. You told Rex you'd meet him in the mess as he left to rally up the 501st. This was the first battle Rex was in since you two became a thing and you almost witnessed him die. You spent the time waiting for Rex wondering if you'll forever live in fear of him dying in battle.
