A/N: There is a HUGE time gap in this chapter. And by huge I mean 8 days. I feel like I needed to skip time to make the story still interesting. Sorry if it upsets anyone :(

Your plans to meet Rex in the mess hall were ruined when you got a transmission, requiring your presence in the bridge. After only about a week of being a Jedi General, you were getting to realize how much nonstop work being one entails. When you got to the bridge, Anakin and Obi-Wan were standing around a holoprojector.

"Greetings (Y/N)," Mace said, bowing his head at you.

"Hello Master," you replied, "What's wrong. I sense there's something off."

"We are sending you on a mission to Mandalore with Anakin's padawan, Ashoka Tano. The Mandalorian Death Watch has been causing increased terror there lately and we need to make sure Dooku isn't funding them. You and Tano will be insuring that. This is a confidential mission. Only the Jedi council and the duchess of Mandalore are aware of this. Keep it that way. Windu out."

"Good luck with Snips," Anakin laughed, "she's definitely something."

"Can't wait," you sarcastically commented. This mission did not thrill you. All you knew is that you would be stuck on Mandalore for about a week, meaning you'd have to leave the 501st for a while. You knew Rex wouldn't be very happy about this news.

You went to the mess hall, amusing he was there. The 501st was at their typical table, as always.

"Captain, I need to speak to you," you said almost too casually. Rex made a confused face, but followed you out of the mess anyways. The men were snickering as you two walked out.

"What's up?" Rex asked, losing his confused face.

"Rex," you sighed, taking a step towards him, "you can't tell anyone, but I'm being sent out on a mission for about a week. I'm going to be on Mandalore. It's just going to be Ashoka and I. I just wanted you to know that I'd be gone for a bit." You looked down and moved your foot a bit.

"I'll miss you mesh'la," Rex frowned, grabbing your hand. "When do you leave?"

"In just under an hour. They are immediately dispatching me." You started walking away, still holding his hand. "Come with me."

Rex followed you to your quarters. When you finally got there and closed the door, you both fell onto your bed. Rex leaned against your wall, the sheets still covering him. You sat in his lap and turned around slightly to face him. He smiled at you and started playing with your hair. You traced his cheekbones with your index finger until you got to his lips, where you grabbed his cheeks and pulled him in for a kiss. Without breaking the kiss, he lightly pushed you so you were on your back and he was on top of you. The kiss deepened as time progressed, but as Rex was putting his hand underneath your back, your comlink went off.

"(Y/N), we're ready to go," Anakin commanded. For both you and Rex, those words we overbearingly painful. Rex pulled you in for the tightest hug you've ever received in your entire life. As much as your both wanted that hug to last forever, you knew you had to rush to the hangar to leave.

"Stay safe nulis, promise me that," you told Rex, a tear falling down your face.

"Anything for you, ner mesh'la jetii," he replied, pulling you in for a final kiss. "I love you."

"I love you too Rex."

"This is so exciting! This is my first undercover Jedi mission!" Ashoka shrieked.
