War Against Us (A Captain Rex x Reader Story)

"CT-7567, CT 27-5555, CT-61..." "STOP!" Anakin interrupted you, "Names (Y/N), They have names."

"Well sorry, I've never exactly met or fought along side with a clone before," You explained, feeling disappointed in yourself. Anakin entered the mess hall and you followed. You looked around and couldn't help but noticed that they all didn't look completely the same. Some had haircuts, hair colored, tattoos, unique armor features, this made you smile. 

"General Skywalker!" You hear a man call and you saw someone in the distance wave. 

Anakin started walking in their direction, you continued to follow him. He sat down at a circular table, and you sat next to him. "I would like to introduce your new general, General (Y/LN). She will be co-leading with me." Anakin told the clones with a smile on his face. 

"Hi boys, nice to meet you," You grinned, reaching around the table to shake all of their hands. One clone, however, seemed to keep his grip a bit longer than the others. "The blonde one," you thought to yourself. 

The blonde one spoke, "I am Captain Rex, these are a few of my brothers." He gave you a warm smile and named all the clones, "Fives, Hardcase, Jesse, Kix and Tup." Upon each name said, that clone waved to you, except Hardcase, he grabbed your hand and kissed it. 

"Hardcase!" Rex yelled and slapped his hard not too hard, but not exactly soft. "Sorry General," He continued, "Hardcase here is kind of a major flirt." 

The clones laughed, except Hardcase who complained, "Hey she's a lady, I wanted to give her the introduction she deserves!"

 "I appreciate your kind gesture Hardcase, but my gender should not determine how I am treated. I am a Jedi general, just like Anakin," you smiled, "and it is lovely meeting all of you, I cannot wait to serve along side you."

Rex looked like he was about to speak, but he was interrupted by Anakin's comlink, it was Obi-Wan, "Anakin, I've been trying to hold off droids on Rishi, but some help would be nice." 

"What perfect timing, I'm on Kamino with (Y/N), this looks like a perfect first clone wars battle," Anakin replied. As Anakin was talking, you were looking at the clones, as Anakin said your name, Rex's mouth formed a small smile. You looked at him and softly smiled back.

"(Y/N)!" Anakin laughed, "you're about to get some action. Rex, gather your men, we're going to Rishi."

You haven't seen any of the clones since Anakin told Rex to go get his men but that was alright, you needed time to think.  You sat next to a supply closet on your ship to Rishi and turned on your lightsaber. The purple glow lit up the dark hall way. 

Having a purple lightsaber was significant to you, it separated you from your fears, the worst day of your life, but before the nightmare came back to your mind, Rex came running into the hall way, "General (Y/LN)! I heard your lightsaber ignite! Are you okay!" He was panting and concerned. 

You laughed, "I'm sorry Rex! I was just turning it on, I haven't used it in quite some time!" You turned it off as Rex was taking his helmet off. 

"Why purple General?" Rex asked, except you didn't hear an electronic sounding voice, you heard his real voice, and for a second, you thought it sounded, well, handsome.

"What, Captain," You asked, as he sat down across from you on the floor. 

"Why a purple lightsaber? Jedi seem to have blue or green?" He looked at you waiting for a response. You looked away from him, you sighed, thinking of what to say. You didn't want to tell him why, you never told anyone why, not even Anakin knows why. 

"Because Rex, I wanted to be different. Kind of like how clone get tattoos and change their hair. I didn't want to be just a Jedi. And it's my master's color," You lied, but you assumed Rex couldn't tell. You felt bad, but you needed to ignore that feeling. 

"Are you okay General?" Rex asked, getting up and sitting next to you. 

"Yeah, I'm fine, just fine. It's my first battle in years! I'm nervous," You laughed and got up, "I think we're almost at Rishi, so I'm going up to the bridge to see Anakin, but thank you for your concern." You smiled at him as he put his helmet. 

"Just doing my duty, sir!" He saluted you. You grabbed his arm and put it to his side. 

"Hey, if we're ever talking, one on one, alone, there is no need to call me general or sir. I'm human, I'm just like you, Call me (Y/N)" You told him sincerely as you started to walk away. "

And you can do the same for me," He whispered, just loud enough for you to hear. 

"So you want me to call you (Y/N)?" You laughed. 

He laughed back, "Rex, call me Rex".

You and the 501st finally landed on Rishi. You took a moment to take in the beautiful landscape. It's unlike any other planet. 

"I thought this planet was already allied with the Republic," You looked at Anakin in confusion. 

"As it turns out, the seps have made a base towards the lower half of the planet secretly, we need to find out why, that's why Obi-Wan is here." 

The 501st marched out into the Rishi wilderness, following their two Generals. You felt proud, powerful, and that odd feeling came back. Just as you were about to dig into that though, you heard blasts. 

"Clankers!" Fives screamed! Instantly, dozens of droids came from all directions. 

"It's an Ambush!" Jesse yelled to all the men. You ripped off your robe and turned on your lightsaber. As you got into slicing droids, you felt that amazing feeling you haven't felt in so long. Adrenaline. Droids were dropping many at a time thanks to your skills, but then you saw something out of the corner of your eye. 

It was Kix, he was on the ground, helping an injured clone. You ran over. 

"He's gone general," Kix mumbled. 

"What was his name?" You asked Kix, putting your hand on his shoulder. 

"Hunter, he was he life of down time, always had something funny to say," Kix told you, in almost a whisper. You picked up a rock and cut your self in the ankle. 

"Sir! What was that for?!" Kix exclaimed, instantly looking at the cut. 

"Don't worry trooper, don't worry." You used the blood from your ankle and wrote the letter H in Aurebesh, followed with a smiley face. 

"General, What are you doing?" Kix asked, very confused. 

"All of these men deserve to feel special, so I drew his first initial and a smiley face, because I assume, based on what you told me, he was a happy man." 

Kix got up and took off his helmet. "Thank You General. Thank you for giving clones value. Thank you for respecting us. Thank you." Kix saluted you. By now the 501st has gotten rid of all the droids. "It is my pleasure," You replied to Kix. 

"(Y/N) Let's get moving! The droids know our location now. It's getting late. Let's set up camp somewhere," Anakin suggested, walking closer to you. 

"It looks like there are tons of caves in the mountains up there," You pointed to the mountains, "Let's hide in there." 

"Good plan, for a newbie," Anakin laughed.
