The Only One

"We're coming in now," you inform the Jedi Cruiser as your shuttle was approaching. The trip to the cruiser was fairly short because it was stationed over Alderaan. Because of this, you were offered a break day on Alderaan and you were not going to pass that one up. As you were looking out the shuttle window, your comlink went off.

Expecting Rex, you answered very excitedly, "I cannot wait to see you!".

"Uh, thanks I guess?" Anakin answered in a very confused manner. You almost died inside, you almost revealed your relationship with Rex.

"That was sarcasm Anakin!" you laughed, trying to cover yourself up. 

"I'm not buying that. Also, I've been getting this vibe from you and a..well..a certain, uh, captain, let's say. We're having a talk when you land on the cruiser," Anakin whispered. 

His words scared you. It is obvious you and Rex are together? Keeping the relationship was crucial. Codes are being broken from both sides, making a Jedi Clone relationship probably one of the worst "rule wise" combinations out there. 

"Uh, alright," you reply to Anakin as you land. "We just landed, where should we meet?".

"Meet me in the mess, there are plenty of people in there so no one could hear us if we sit in the corner."

The shuttle landed and you rushed out, hoping Ashoka wouldn't see where you were going. If Anakin knows about you and Rex, he is the only one who can know. It took a while to get to the mess but when you arrived you saw Anakin in the corner. He was smiling excessively. 

"Anakin, what's going on?" you asked, almost shaking as you took a seat. 

"Have you been..interested..in anybody lately. Like a "love" interest."

"Anakin..." you mumbled, crossing your arms.

"I don't mind if you are. You know I'm breaking the code, so why would I care if you were breaking it?" he asked shrugging his shoulders.

"You're right," you reply, throwing your hands up. "I like someone."

"And that is?" he added with some sass.

"I think you know," you giggled a bit, but Anakin shook his head and claimed he didn't. You finally give in. You lean a bit closer to him to insure no one heard. "It's Rex."

Anakin threw his head back, "You're crushing on my Captain? Great!"

"That's OUR Captain and yes, yes I am. And there's sort of more," You hesitate to say the last part. 

"Let's hear it," Anakin sighed.

"We are sort of, kind of a thing now," you slowly spill.

His put two of his fingers up to his temple and shut his eyes, taking one breath deeply. He opened his eyes and finally spoke, "You're dating Rex? Rex? Mr. Rule follower?". You nodded at him. He kept going," How did you get that to happen?".

You smiled, "Actually, he was the one who came to me about it. If it wasn't for him approaching me about him having feelings for me, we probably wouldn't be together.".

"I'm shocked he would actually break his code. Especially with his General, but if you two are happy that's all that matters. I just want to let you know it's not easy. You know I rarely get to have alone time with Padme, and maybe it will be easier for you and Rex because you're his General, but I don't want you to be disappointed if you two aren't able to spend time with him alone," Anakin's voice was soft and very understanding.
