You said his name and stopped. "Rex, my father,"
Suddenly, alarms started going off from the radar, so you jumped up to see what was wrong. The ship jumped out of hyperspace and you noticed you were in the middle of an asteroid belt.
"Dammit!" you mumbled, navigating the ship through. "Since when was there an asteroid belt by Geonosis?" Luckily, Geonosis wasn't too far from the belt, but it still wasn't going to be easy to get through it. Rex jumped onto the controls next to you and helped you navigate. It figures something got in the way of your talk with Rex. Regardless of how far into the belt you two were, it seemed to just keep growing and growing.
"(Y/N) are you sure we've got this?" Rex asked, not taking a single eye off the asteroid belt.
"Yeah, all we need to do it-" an asteroid smashed the left wing of your ship, sending you and Rex into a spiral motion. "Hang on Rex, we're going down!". He made a frightened look and he took his hands off the control, grabbing yours with one of his. You still kept one hand on the controls.
The spiraling motion was making you sick. Almost sick to the point where you wanted to crash just to make it stop. It was obvious you were going to crash land into Geonosis but you more concerned that the crash would give your location away. As you entered the Geonosis atmosphere, your ship started to burn slightly. Closer to the surface, the ship started to stop spiraling, but the wing of the ship went a bit too close to a canyon and shattered off.
The force of the collision and the gravity of the planet puled you out of the ship. In a fight or flight response, you grab Rex's hand. You're dangling from the ship. The velocity of the ship was making it hard for you to hold on to Rex. Rex looked at you with so much fear as you slowly let go. Your body flew out of the ship and crashed into the planet below. You rolled through the sand until you eventually stopped. In the distance you saw the ship crash and all you could do was wish Rex was alright as you slowly shut your eyes.
(........)
"(Y/N)! (Y/N)! Mesh'la don't leave me!" Were the words you woke up to. As your eyes opened, you saw Rex shaking and his face was all cut up. His eyes looked puffy and his arms were draped over you. You went to speak, but as you opened your mouth, Rex's fingers closed it.
"Mesh'la no words. You are injured, please rest, please," he was trying to hold back tears. In response to him, you didn't speak, but you pointed at the sky. Rex looked up and noticed the big dark clouds.
"Guess's I'm going to have to help us find shelter," he sighed, picking you up. You winced in pain. "The pain will be gone soon (Y/N), I promise," he kissed your forehead.
Before long, he found a small cave, just big enough for the two of you. "This should be good," he smiled, resting you down. "Now let's figure out what happened to you." He slowly started to examine you. "What hurts?"
"Just my head," you sighed, closing your eyes.
"Probably just a concussion then," Rex said as he laid down next to you.
You nodded your head in response. Talking was not something you wanted to do because of the pain and you could tell Rex knew that.
"Rest mesh'la," Rex commanded while taking a blanket out of his supply backpack.
"Wait!" you whispered, looking outside the cave. "It's raining."
"So?" he asked as thunder rumbled.
"Let's kiss in the rain," you barely got out. A smile formed upon Rex's nervous face.
He helped you get up and he ran outside. You cracked a smile as you saw him standing outside with rain dripping down his face. Instantly when you exited the cave, the rain drenched you and you laughed. Rex wrapped you up and lifted you off the ground so you were a bit taller than him.
"Hey mesh'la," he said, still spinning you around
"Yes nulis?"
"I love you," he smiled.
"I love you too, Rex," you smiled pack, pressing your lips against his. As more and more rain fell, the kiss got deeper and deeper. Another rumble of thunder sound.
"We should go back in now," Rex said against the kiss. You nodded your head as he carried you in. Once he laid you down, he asked you to fall asleep because of your head injuries. You did as he requested and tried to fall asleep. His arms were wrapped around you and he started to sing his song again as you fell asleep, "Mhi solus tome, mhi solus dar'tome, mhi me'dinui an, mhi ba'juri verde."
(.............)
You woke up to the sound of marching droids.
"Rex! Rex!" you whipsered, shaking him a bit. He woke up. "Do you hear that?" The sound of the droids got louder and louder.
"They won't find us up here," he groaned in his morning voice. His morning voice made you melt inside.
"If you say so!" you laughed, peeking out of the cave. "Do they know we are here?"
"Maybe?" he questioned, joining you outside the cave. The two of you decided to get going so you had information to report back to the Republic. The terrain of Geonosis didn't help this mission. Also, the threat of droids finding you was beyond high. Even within the first hour of the mission, you have had about ten near misses. You both kept pulling forward though.
Within a few hours, you and Rex were within a few clicks of the droid production factory.
"This won't be an easy one," Rex whispered as you both were laying on a cliff overlooking the factory.
"But we should have about a dozen battalions, I think we may be able to do this."
"What does Anakin think?"
You looked down at your wrist, "I've sent him some information. He hasn't said much back but he is confident in this one."
"Good, because we'll need that confidence," Rex sighed, looking at the thousands of droids exiting the factory. You both decided to retreat back so you could safely contact Anakin and Obi-Wan. Rex assumed that safe distance would be about thirty clicks, a long walk, but worth it.
You finally could com Anakin, "Anakin, there are thousands upon thousands of droids here. It's going to be risky, but it's still critical we get this. I think you guys can do it. I'm going to send you plan briefings. Show these to all the troops before coming here. If you want to make changes feel free. I'm also sending you Rex and mine's coordinates. Meet us here."
"Very well done fireball, see you soon!" Anakin replied as his voice faded out.
"I don't think I'm ready for another Geonosis," Rex sighed, taking his helmet off, fear striking all over his face.
