You stood in front of the grand black door of the Malfoy manor with your boyfriend clutching onto your hand beside you. Draco's parents had asked him if you'd like to come round for an evening over the holiday. You had accepted the invitation gladly, but you were still worried.
'What if they don't like me? What if they dislike my family? What if they hate my blood status? At least I'm in Slytherin, that's one redeeming factor at least.' You thought to yourself.
As five thousand different worries rushed through your head, Draco gave your hand a gentle and reassuring squeeze. "Don't worry beautiful. They'll love you. I promise." He told you, smiling and kissing your forehead comfortingly.

The door swung open revealing a stunningly pretty woman smiling at the two of you. Her long hair was the same colour as Draco's with a small section of black. Her pale face was flawless and her smile sweet.
"Draco." She greeted, hugging him tight. "You must be (Y/N)." She turned to you. "I'm Narcissa. Is so wonderful to finally meet you. Draco has spoken very highly of you." She greeted, showing you into the large house.
A flowing blonde haired man strode into the large front room. "Hello. (Y/N) is it?" He asked, holding out his hand. You gave him a firm hand shake and nodded. "Yes. Draco has told us a lot about you. I'm Lucius." He introduced.
You smiled timidly at the tall Malfoy and Narcissa guided you over to the sofa.

The living room was huge. Not just in length but in highly as well. The ceiling was tall and you wondered how anyone ever got up their to dust. It was dimly lit by the light from the large cathedral like windows and the small candles dotted around the walls of the room. A grand crystal chandelier hung overhead in the very centre of the living area. It was exceptionally stunning.
As you marvelled at your surroundings, Draco took your hand and sat with you on the dark emerald green sofa that had similar features to the one in the Slytherin common room.
You all took a seat. You and Draco on the two seater sofa, with Lucius and Narcissa sat in individual armchairs opposite you both. Lucius' hand rested on top of his wife's on the arm of the chair.

Lucius was the first to speak. "So (Y/N). Draco tells us that your father works in the ministry." He informed as a small house elf bought out four cups of steaming warm tea.
You nodded. "Um yes. He's head of the department for the Regulation and Control of Magical Creatures." You stated proudly.
"Ah yes. I have seen him around the ministry. Pureblood, correct?" He asked, almost on the edge of his seat.
You nodded once more. "He is."
Lucius smirked, leaning back in his chair. "That's right. (Y/D/N) (Y/L/N). Yes I know your fathers family. And your mother?" He enquired eagerly.
Narcissa glared at Lucius but you continued, not being at all ashamed of your family. "She's half blood, though she doesn't know anyone in her family that isn't a witch or wizard. But she's a writer." You addressed.
Draco's father nodded slowly, taking all the information in.
Draco and his mother both took the tea in front of them and sipped it silently, knowing Lucius was making his judgment on you.

Draco placed his cup on the dark mahogany coffee table in font of him and began. "(Y/N) and I are partners in Defence Against the Dark Arts. But she prefers Care of Magical Creatures." He told his parents.
Lucius looked almost impressed. "So your in Slytherin too." He half asked, half implied.
"Yes I am." You smiled widely.

The stumpy house elf wandered back into the room and cleared his throat. "Master. The dinner has been prepared." He informed as Lucius got up, knocking the short elf over and darting to the dining room.
You walked over to the elf and asked "Are you alright?"
He seemed flustered, as though it wasn't common for someone to ask that sort of a question to him. He nodded profusely and walked back to the dining room.
Draco took your hand and smiled, kissing your cheek. "Mother loves you. I haven't seen her smile so much in a while."
You looked over to see Narcissa grinning and walking proudly through the door her husband hand entered a few moments before.
Before walking in to have dinner you stopped. "Does your father hate me?" You asked looking down at your feet, honestly worried that he didn't approve of you.
Draco placed his fingers under your chin and tilted your head up to look at him. His deep grey eyes captivated you instantly. "Don't worry about him. It takes him a while to warm up to people. You have nothing to worry about." He reassured placing a sweet kiss on your soft lips.

You ate dinner with the Malfoy family while continuing to talk about school and other magic related topics.
At the end of the delicious meal you knew it was time for you to go back home.
"Thank you very much for having me." You thanked politely.
Narcissa smiled her sweet smile. "Oh it has been a pleasure. Your welcome round at any time (Y/N)." She spoke, hugging you goodbye.
That had to be a good sign right. A hug. You did good.
You looked at the tall silver haired man. "Yes quite. Any friend of Draco's is a friend of ours." Lucius told you unconvincingly but still in a kind tone.
You could tell he was reluctant but be still accepted that Draco loved you and if you were the girl that made him happy, he would have to learn to like you as well.

You said your goodbyes to his parents and they left the two of you to talk before you left. "I guess I'll see you at school then." You smiled, thanking Merlin the night was over but still feeling sad to be leaving.
"Yes. Thank you for coming." He kissed you softly but passionately.
You broke away from each other reluctantly before saying your goodbyes and beginning you journey home.
Walking further away from the manor, you smiled. Everything was perfect and you never wanted that to change.
