You and Draco had been in a secret relationship for about 14 months. I say secret, what I mean is only around 4 people knew of the arrangement. It's not that you were ashamed of each other or worried as to what people would think. You didn't care about the students that surrounded you at school. No, you were more concerned about the teachers and more specifically your father, Severus Snape. You knew the man would freak out if he knew you were dating a Death Eater and putting yourself in harms way. Your father had kept you hidden from Voldemort for years to ensure your safety. And you did feel bad for throwing all his hard work back in his face, but you loved Draco and he loved you.

You and Draco stood in the Defence Against The Dark Arts classroom, waiting for your father to enter the room. He had become the DADA teacher this year when Professor Slughorn returned to the school to resume teaching Potions. You personally thought your dad was a better teacher then Slughorn but you continued studying Potions and asking you father if you didn't understand Horace's methods.
The door swung open suddenly as everyone watched the black haired man strut into the room regally. Getting to the front of the room, he turned on his heals and faced the cluster of 6th years. "Today you will be learning nonverbal magic." Snape addressed. "Would anyone like to tell me the advantages of nonverbal magic?" He queried.
The room was silent as Hermione Granger stuck her hand into the air, not as forcefully as first year but still proudly. Your father rolled his eyes and pointed at her. "It gives you an advantage over your adversary as they have no prior warning as to what you are about to do." She explained clearly.
Snapped nodded. "Correct Miss Granger. 5 points to Gryffindor." He spoke reluctantly.

Your father began pacing around the room. "Today we are going to learn the shield charm using nonverbal magic. This takes a lot of construction, so stay-focused." He told the class, looking over every student individually.
"Get into pairs and begin practicing. Remember to think about the incantation clearly- and perform the wand movement like- normal." Snape addressed as the students in the room all moved to grab a partner and find a space to practice.

Draco took your hand and lead you to the back of the room were you could both practice together. You both began attempting the charm, concentrating all your effort on it. Soon enough, Draco was producing the shield in front of him with no verbal communication with his wand. Looking up at him you smiled. "Well done Mr Malfoy." You heard your father call from the other side of the room.
He nodded a thank you as Snape carried on surveying the sea of 6th years. Draco came closer to you, knowing that your dad wasn't looking at the two of you. "Just relax a little bit more. Really think about the words." You nodded at the boys tips and tried one more time.
Sparks of silver began to conjure at the end of your wand as you kept your focus and finally produced the shield.

You smiled proudly to yourself, stopping the charm and turning to your boyfriend. A wide grin starched across his flawless face as he looked down at you. Pulling you towards him, he engulfed you into a warm hug. "Well done Miss Snape." He imitated your fathers approval. You giggled at his impression, looking up into his candle lit silver eyes.
Pansy suddenly spoke up, giggling at the two of you, from a few meters away. "Ugh. Get a room. Just because you're going out with her d-" she clasped her hands over her mouth, stopping herself from saying another word. Her eyes widened, preying that her teacher hadn't heard her joke.
You and Draco let go of each other instantly but stood next to one another with no space between you.
The inevitable, monotone voice came from the other side of the room. "Miss Parkinson. Do you mind not disrupting my lesson. You, (Y/N) and Mr Malfoy will be spending lunch with me. Hopefully- you will learn to be more mindful of others." Your fathers stare hit you, making you tense up. "5 points from Slytherin. Don't- make me take anymore- off." He commanded, turning to his desk.
When the end of the lesson finally came, you and Draco ran out hand in hand.

Lunch rolled around pretty quickly and the three of you all made your way to the DADA class room. "I'm so sorry guys. I didn't mean to say that." Pansy tried to apologise for the 17th time that day.
"Look Parkinson. Just drop it. What's done is done." Draco snapped.
Pansy hunger her head in shame. "I could always obliviate him for you." She suggested.
You quickly turned your head to look at the slightly older girl. "Do not point your wand anywhere near my father! I swear Pansy if you do, you will not see the end of the year." You chastised.
Pansy was silent for the remainder of the walk to your dad's classroom.

Stopping at the large, creaking, wooden door, you twisted the handle and scurried in. Snape was sat at his desk, elbows on the table with his fingers pressed together in front of his face. He was waiting in expectants.
The three of you lined up in front of the desk and waited for him to speak first. "Is it- true?" He finally asked after looking at each individuals hung heads.
You sighed softly and nodded. Your father let out a loud breath and stood up abruptly. "Parkinson. Shouting across my classroom is not tolerated. Maybe with your other Defence teachers it was okay. But not with me!" He exclaimed. Pansy nodded franticly. "You may leave. Now!" He demanded.
The brown haired girl ran to the door and closed it on her way out.

He turned to the two of you. "What where you thinking (Y/N)?" He exploded. You jumped at his tone. "You can not go out with this boy." He concluded quickly.
Your head shot up. "But Dad. I l-" you started.
"You can not. And you will not. You need protecting. I can't lose you as well." His pleading eyes looked into yours with hurt. "You're all I have (Y/N). I'm not letting him have you as well." He was on the verge of tears, an uncommon trait for your father. But you knew what he meant. He had lost everyone to Voldemort. Everyone except his daughter.
Draco wanted to say something. You could tell, but he didn't think it was the right moment. Instead he slipped his hand into yours discreetly and squeezed it gently.
You spoke finally after a moment in silence as Snape walked back to his desk. "You're not going to louse me. I'm always going to be here. I know you have tried to tell him I didn't exist but there is no way of him finding out that I do. We have been going out for over a year and if anyone was going to say something to the Dark Lord they would have done so already." You tired to reassure him.

He shook his head. But Draco spoke up before he could. "I will protect her with my life Severus. You made a promise to my mother, now I will make one to you. She will not be harmed by the Dark Lord. Nor will she have to become a Death Eater. I promise she will be protected." He affirmed.
Snape looked up at him. He was conflicted. On one hand he wanted you to be happy, but in the other hand he knew you were in danger. Greater danger than you could comprehend. "You are going to continue dating, regardless of what I say. Aren't you?" He knew the answer already. "Fine. But if one hair on my daughters head is harmed and I will personally see to it that your whole family is destroyed, Malfoy." He warned.
Draco nodded confidently. The young boy cared for you. The old man cared for you. You didn't have many friends, but these two in front of you were the only people you cared about.
"Thank you." You whispered, dragging Draco up to your father and absorbing the two men into a hug. The two chucked both honestly at your words and awkwardly as to being so close to the other man.
