You had been promised by Voldemort that if you joined the Death Eaters, that not a single member of your family would be harmed. If not, they would all have to die. Naturally, you took him up on his offer and joined his side in order to save the people you loved most in life. You couldn't have your older or younger brother getting hurt. You didn't want to lose your parents either. You had to do whatever it took to protect the ones closest to you.

You were sat in the Malfoys manor next to your best friend Draco. When he heard you were going to become a Death Eater, he flipped. He wasn't angry, just worried for your safety. He knew how manipulative Voldemort was and tried to warn you about the dangers you could be getting into. But you didn't want to hear it. You just wanted to keep your family away from all of the fighting.
As the Dark Lord entered the room, he grinned, bearing his yellow stained teeth. "My lord." Bellatrix spoke in a seductive voice making both you and Draco cringe.
"Good evening. As you all know, the time is getting closer. Soon, Dumbledore will be dead and I will be the most powerful wizard of all. With you all by my side, nothing can come between me and the final stand of with Harry Potter." He addressed proudly.
A few of the Death Eaters around you grinned and nodded with pride and admiration.

You on the other hand sat with your head down. You didn't want any of this and you had a bad feeling about the grand meeting.
"Some of our younger members are yet to prove themselves to be a loyal member of our group." Voldemort looked over at you and Draco, standing up and walking slowly around the table. "I have already given young Draco here a task in which to prove himself to me. But you (Y/N), are yet to show your true allegiance." He pointed out, placing a hand on the back of your chair.
You began taking shallow breaths to try and hide your panicked feelings. The fear of the unknown was striking. What did he want me to do? I can't kill anyone. You thought to yourself.

Soon, the Dark Lord was walking swiftly over to the edge of the room where he summoned an unknown Death Eater to retrieve someone from the cellar downstairs. Within moments, your younger 6 year old brother was hauled into the room lined with deathly stares and looks of a sadistic nature. "This is how you will prove yourself to me (Y/L/N)." Voldemort proposed.
Draco looked at you with wide, worried eyes. He knew that the only reason you joined the dark force was to protect your brother. And now you were going to have to do the unknown to him. "Draco. Bring her over here." He commanded.
A look of pure terror was etched into the face of your little brother as he scrunched his eyes tightly closed and curled his small body into the tiniest ball he could muster.

Draco reluctantly led you over to where your brother was curled up. He rested a reassuring hand in your shoulder, fearing what might be to come. "All I need you to do, is kill it." He chirped, avoiding your brothers pronoun in order to dehumanise the young soul.
"It? That it you are refuting to is my brother and I am not killing him." You scowled. "You said that you wouldn't hurt my family if I joined you." You roared. Unsure of where the sudden confidence had come from, you were instantly put back into your 'rightful place' by the Dark Lord.
He chucked slyly. "I told you I wouldn't hurt them. I said nothing about you!" He spat back.
Draco, who was standing next to you clenching his fist, exploded. "She's not your puppet. You can't control her." His face was instantly one of terror, much like your brothers.
Voldemort was angry. Not that you could tell by his face. He always looked angry, but you knew because of the harsh, deathly tone of his voice. "I can do what I please Malfoy. Now stand aside. I have ways of making your life difficult." He warned, narrowing his already small eyes.

Draco cowered behind you as Lucius tutted from the table in disapproval. You knew Draco only did this to protect his Mother, but they had to get out of this somehow. "If you are going to refuse, we will have to dispose of all three of you in the correct manor. Crucio." Voldemort pointed his wand at Draco first, making Narcissa stand up from her chair in horror and worry. As the wooden object scrapped across the floor, Voldemort pointed his wand at her. "Sit. Down." He warned as Lucius pulled on her sleeve and ushered her slowly down. The caring woman only took her eyes off of her pained son for a split second to look at Snape with pleading eyes before retiring them to the aching boy.
"Take the three of them downstairs. We can deal with them later." Voldemort requested as two men took the three of you down the stone steps and into the cold cellar.

You sat on the stone floor for what felt like hours. Your brother was curled up in your lap and Draco rested his head on your shoulder. His body was still in pain. It was like an after shock that came in small surges. You stroked your younger brothers dusty brown hair and hummed him a light tune to calm him down. You could feel the small tears dampening your shirt. And they weren't just from your brother.
Your shoulder began to feel slightly wet. Looking down at Draco, a small scatter of teardrops had fallen from his eyes as he stared aimlessly at the wall in front of him. "I'm so sorry Draco." You whispered as not to startle him.
The blonde just shook his head. "It's fine. It's not like it's your fault." He reassured. He never wanted you to be in any sort of trouble and he certainly never wanted you to feel like anything bad was your fault.
"Yes it is. You're a prisoner in your own house. I have messed everything up, I put both of our families in danger. I'm so sorry." You held back your tears, trying to be as strong as possible for your brother.
Draco sat up and looked at you with wide, bloodshot eyes. "No. It's not. Do you hear me. It's not your fault. I'm a coward and I'm the reason we are in this mess." He tried to take the blame.
You shook your head, biting your lip to prevent the tears.

Before you could reply, a noise was heard at the door of the cellar as a dark haired man walked in.
"Snape?" Draco looked over at the greasy haired professor.
He came closer to you both and spoke in a hushed tone. "Shut up. You are making this very difficult for me. Now, go. I contacted the Order and Lupin and MadEye are waiting outside for you. Now get out quickly." He ushered the three of you out hastily.
Draco took your hand as you carried your brother out in order to save time. You ran out of the side door and scurried down the path between the trees to get out of the grounds and towards the two Order of the Phoenix members.
You were met with a disapproving glare from MadEye but a soft smile from Lupin. You just hoped that everyone would be okay once you got back.
