You had always been told about the young boy who lived the other side of the UK to you. His father had been friends with your mother when they were younger and your mum was his godmother. The boy was 8 months older than you, making him the year above but you had never met him.
When you first got to Hogwarts in September of 1992, you were sorted into Slytherin where you met Draco for the first time. He wasn't fazed by your presents in the slightest but you were elated to final meet him. You could say you were a toned down, Slytherin version of Colin Creevey. You were fascinated by the authority the youngest Malfoy held.As you progressed through the school years, you began obsessing over the boy less (unlike Colin) and began to try and build a friendship with him. Draco slowly let you in, becoming acquainted with one another. He never really viewed you as a friend as such but would get used to having you around for his own personal gain. You didn't know at the time that he was sort of just using you to get back at Harry. Draco thought that him having a 'fan' of his own would make Harry see he is not as special as everyone thinks he is.
It was 4th year when you began to realise that Draco wasn't exactly honest with you. You slowly began to see that he was taking advantage of you being around, but in all honesty, you didn't really care. You had more important things to worry about.
One day that all changed though. And Draco began to see you in a new light. It had been a rough week for you. You'd had 5 detentions already, heard a few Gryffindors talking about you through the library book shelfs and had to endure over 20 hours of Draco bitching about Harry Potter to you. As much as you loved him, that's all he seemed to do with you. You were the person he complained to about everything or used to get or do things. Half of them landed you in detention but it was fun most of the time so it didn't bother you.
But this week had been to much. You had written to your mother about the past 7 days but were yet to receive a reply. She was a busy woman, she didn't have a lot of time for impromptu letters. As you laid in bed, glassy eyes staring at the ceiling, a light knock was heard at the door. You picked yourself up off of the bed begrudgingly and walked over to the old wooden door. "Yes?" You asked as you prided the door open.
Pansy was stood there, leant against the frame with her arms crossed over her chest. She was another person Draco liked to take advantage of. She was commonly the person he sent you off to do things with. "Draco needs our help." She sighed, obviously not in the mood, much like you.
You rolled your eyes. "Fine. What is it? It better be fun or I'm not doing it. I can't get another detention otherwise I'll be suspended." You pointed out knowing that the combination of Umbrage and Dumbledore were not people to be messed around with in these times.
Parkinson nodded. "Me too. Snape has already given my 5 warnings. I'm bound to be suspended with you." She agreed as you both made your way to the common room.Once you both got there, Draco was waiting impatiently for the two of you to arrive. "Well hurry up. We don't have all night. It's already past curfew and we don't want to be caught by Filtch and his bloody cat." He moaned, walking away thorough the door and out of the common room.
You took one look at Pansy before finally following him. "So what exactly are we doing?" You enquired, shadowing Draco down the empty hallway.
Draco turned to you both quickly. "I overheard Potter and his friends talking about sneaking out after hours, so I want to find them." He told you.
You rolled your eyes. "And why couldn't you just do this on your own?" You narrowed your eyes, fed up of all of this.
Draco shot round to look at you. "You want to go back? Fine with me. Just stop following me around like a lost owl (Y/L/N)." He spat, strutting away down the corridor. With that, you did exactly what Draco suggested and turned around to plod your way back to your dorm. Pansy followed beside you as you both twisted your way down the endless corridors on your way back to the dungeons. Before turning a corner, you heard the faint murmur of three voices on the other side. You stuck your arm out, stopped Pansy from turning the corner so you could listen for a tiny bit longer. Instantly, you identified the voices. Potter, Granger and Weasley. "Oh great." You sighed as Pansy looked at your tired face.
With that, the three Gryffindors turned the corner and were instantly greeted by your presence. "Well, well, well. If it isn't Dumbledore's golden gang. What are you three doing out of bed this late?" You spoke sarcastically, despite your longing for your warm, comfortable bed. You needed to keep up appearances.
Harry scowled at the two of you but Hermione spoke first. "We might as well ask you two the same thing." She stated.
You narrowed your eyes at her. "Did I direct my question to you, mudblood?" You spat. Your tone was angry, you really didn't like the three Gryffindors that stood before you. Also you had heard to much about them from Draco to even consider caring for them. She sighed before looking away from you, knowing you got the better of her. You smirked, it was just to easy. "Hey, don't call her that." Harry protested.
You rolled your eyes as Pansy scoffed. "And what are you going to do about it Potter?" She asked sassily.
Ron stepped forward, only inches away from you. "I wouldn't worry Harry. They don't even know which way to hold their wands without Draco by their side." He challenged.
You drew your wand as soon as he finished his sentence, uttering a simple "expelliarmus", sending him flying backwards, knocking Harry down to the ground on his way. "Oh dear. Look at that Pans'. It looks like I held my wand wrong. Whoops." You spoke, sarcasm ripping through every syllable. "Now. If you don't mind, we'll be off." You finalised, leaving Harry and Ron on top of each other, stepping over them gracefully and Hermione stood sulking in a corner. Finally turning the corner, you saw Draco leant against the wall smirking like an idiot. "Don't smirk like that Malfoy. It makes you 10 times less attractive." You sassed, still having a little more in you.
With you strutting down the corridor, Draco turned to Pansy. "She's not as bad as I thought. Do you think she'll talk to me? Or have I already blown it?" He enquired, watching you walk away as your hair swayed from side to side.
"Prepare to beg Malfoy. She'll be a tough one to crack. But no, you haven't blown it quite yet." She smirked before running to catch up with you. Leaving Draco stood thinking about how he could initiate a real friendship with you.
