I'm really sad that Patrick Swayze is dead. He's hot af.

I knew I wouldn't spend long in this room. Someone was bound to come looking for me- namely the Alphas. But even though I knew this, the room grew smaller and smaller with each hour that passed.

Confinement for a wolf was always mentally damaging- it goes against our natures, our instincts to be free. But confinement was always a favourite of my father's punishments. Often accompanied by silver chains and no water or food.

My fingers found their way to my scars, palming the raised rings around my wrists.

Fear was present- it skirted on the edges of my mind, playing with my doubts and throwing them to the forefront of my conscience. Logic warred with it, the knowledge someone was bound to be here.

And at that moment, the moment I feared no one would come- I missed Lyle more than I missed the idea of the family I never had.

Not only would he have me out in a heartbeat- he wouldn't have locked me in a fucking room.

Life would have been so much better and easier if the Moon Goddess had made us mates.

Turns out she likes fucking up my life though.

"Where is she Merrick?" A familiar voice broke through my thoughts, shocking me out of my stupor. I stood and waited, rubbing my bare arms and palming my scars.

Someone was here.

"Merrick. I command you as an Alpha, to tell me where she is"

Alpha Luke.

A snarl broke free from my intended mate- the words barely audible to my own ears.

"Concrete. Basement."

A gasp was heard and footsteps neared the room I was enclosed in, a mad scramble heard before the door's final lock was broken.

Luna Grace whimpered as she saw me, both ankles, wrists and neck chained like I was some sort of animal in Merrick's own private circus. Alpha Luke came behind her, face shutting down as he moved past her and toward me, grimacing when the silver manacles burned his fingers.

"He chained you in silver?" Alpha Luke's voice was hard.

I shrugged, wincing inwardly at the fresh pangs of pain, but kept my face still. Merrick stood at the doorway, gritting his teeth as Alpha Luke unchained me.

Luna Grace turned to him, hand snapping out and slapping him across the face- the echo of her impact heard throughout the room and probable house. She shook her head at him, disappointed and extremely angry at the person she thought she knew.

Merrick just stood- face unapologetic. I thought there was more to him.

When Alpha Luke had finished unchaining me, he handed me his jersey to cover my singlet and shorts. I just thought it was to stop him from staring at my scars.

I pushed through both of them, thankful that they had freed me, but resentful of the fact they encouraged me to try with Merrick.

"Karen" Luna Grace's voice broke as she called to me, making me stop in my tracks.

"Yes Luna?"

Her hand neared my arm but I reared back, flinching away from her contact. Her eyes watered and I sighed forcefully, intending to make her feel better. She didn't deserve my bitterness.

"It's alright Luna Grace, I was only there for a night"

She shook her head, gaze falling to my fresh burn wounds. "It's not alright Karen. It's not alright at all"
