   Thomas's POV

I woke up in someone elses bed to the sound of someone typing. I looked over and saw Alex sitting on the floor with his laptop, his eyes glued to the screen. "Alex isn't my roommate," I thought, feeling confused. Then the memories from last night hit me. I looked at my watch. It was four in the morning.
"Alex," I said, stretching my arms and back out, " why are you up typing at four am?"
"Because my first class starts at eight," he replied, not looking up from the screen, " and I didn't get anything done last night so I have to catch up." He took a big gulp of coffee and continued to type.
"Your already three months ahead in all your classes," I laughed, "the essay your working on now isn't due for another two months."
"I know," Alex said, sounding slightly embarrassed ,"but I would rather have it done then worry about it next month."
There was no way I was getting back to sleep, so I sat down beside him. I cuddled with him for a while while he typed, then kissed him goodbye and headed off to my dorm room.

I hated my roommates. Aaron Burr and Charles Lee, the two biggest bullies on campus. They didn't bother me too much because I was bigger than both of them, but I hated to see them pick on other smaller kids, like freshman. For some reason, Alex was Burr's target for this year.
Luckily, Burr and Lee had an early class, so I had the dorm to myself. By the time I showered and got ready, it was time for my first class.

-timeskip so I can forward the plot-

     James' POV
-----------------------------------------------------------

I had just finished my classes when Burr decided to talk to me. "James," he called, running over to me, "I need you to talk to you about something."
"Not in the mood, Aaron," I replied, shrugging him off and walking in the direction of my dorm. I could tell I was catching a cold, which was something that happened on a weekly basis for me.
"I know you like Thomas," he said, and I perked up. "Who would've told you that," I snapped at him, sniffling slightly.
"Oh please," Aaron said, snickering to himself, "you stared at him that entire class. Anyone who would pay a little bit of attention would notice."
I felt like I was going to vomit. There was no way Aaron was going to keep this a secret. I would be the laughing stock of the school, and Thomas would hate me. "What, are you going to blackmail me?" I said, trying to hide the tears forming in my eyes.
"No," he said, smirking, "I'm going to help you get him."
"What?" I said, really confused, "I can't! Thomas is happy with Alex. Even if I do like him, he's my best friend. I can't do that to him."
"Oh please," burr said, rolling his eyes, "Thomas doesn't really love Alex. He's a player. They'll probably break up anyways in a month."
I was still skeptical. I didn't want to lose Thomas as a friend by making him break up with Alex. Burr could see the pondering look on my face. "Listen," he explained, a little quieter than the rest of the things he said," I have a plan. Just trust me, okay?"
I knew burr wasn't exactly a person I could trust, but I had no choice. He would use the information against me if I didn't agree to my plan. I couldn't lose Thomas like that. "Fine," I said quietly as I started walking again. I could hear burr laughing as I entered the dorm.

OK so this one is a little shorter, but I like it. I hope you guys enjoy!
