Peggy's POV
-----------------------------------------------------------

I slammed my foot against the gas pedal, desperate to get to john as fast as I could. I sped towards the airport, tears running down my face. I couldn't believe this was happening. He was dying. John got shot and was in the hospital dying and there was nothing I could do about it. We finally reached the airport.
I heard Alex mutter a few curse words and something about hating planes as we slammed the car doors and ran to the boarding station. We went through security and boarded the plane, waiting anxiously for it to take off.

Alex's POV
-----------------------------------------------------------

As soon as I stepped foot onto the plane, I began to feel shaky. Something about it just made me feel queasy. "Honey, are you okay?" Thomas asked me in a gentle voice, "you look really pale."
"I'm fine," I snapped back, a little harsher than I had realized. Instead of being upset, Thomas just sighed and put his arm around me as we sat down.
"Just remember I'm here for you," said Thomas, kissing me lightly on my forehead. I rested my head on his chest as Peggy sat down next to us and nervously tapped her foot.
"What if we don't get there in time," Peggy said, tapping her foot even faster, "what if I don't get there before- " she began to sob quietly. Thomas took his free arm and wrapped it around her, patting her back. "It'll be okay," he said, trying to reassure her, "we'll make it in time, I promise." Suddenly, the intercom blared on:
"Hello, passengers, we would like to remind you to fasten your seatbelts and remain in your seats until allowed to stand. The plane will be taking off in a moment. Thank you and have a safe ride."
"Shit," I said as I fastened my seatbelt and began to tap my foot, too. Thomas grabbed my shoulders and turned me to face him. "Listen," he said, rubbing my shoulders as he spoke, "I'm right here. Everything is going to be okay." He leaned in and kissed my lips. I could feel the eyes of people around the plane stare at us, but I didn't care. I kissed him back and began to feel myself relax a little.
I looked over at Peggy. She was fast asleep. She must've been completely exhausted. I snuggled into Thomas and prepared myself for the flight to start.
I clutched Thomas' shirt as the plane slowly began to ascend. This was the worst part for me. I felt my mind grow fuzzy and began to fiddle with my hands, then Thomas turned my face towards his. My thoughts immediately became more clear. Right then, he was my anchor, the only thing keepinge from slipping away from reality and into a panic attack.

Peggy's POV
-----------------------------------------------------------

I was standing in a hospital room with john lying on the bed. He looked weak and paler than usual. "Never forget me," he said hoarsely, his voice no more than a whisper.
"No," I quietly sobbed, "don't leave me, please. Stay withe john," but it was to late. The heart monitor flatlined and I fell to the ground, sobbing hysterically. He was gone.
"Peggy, wake up." Thomas shook me awake as I remembered where I was. "We're here. You were crying while you were asleep. Are you alright?"
"I'm fine," I said as I wiped the tears from my eyes and grabbed my carry on luggage. We walked off the plane and caught a taxi to the hospital.
