Here's POV
-----------------------------------------------------------I stood on the platform, a million thoughts racing through my brain. C'mon, Herc, just ac natural. You look like a statue, relax your arms. Oh great now you look fidgety, stop moving. Just think about your vows, you can't mess them up.... And ohmygod Laf is beautiful.
Laf practically floated onto the platform, the dress I had made for them flowing and shifting perfectly behind them. I wonder how Laf could look so serene, so calm, when we were about to male the biggest decision of our lives.
They're so elegant. They probably weren't freaking out like I was.Laf's POV
-----------------------------------------------------------
AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA ohmygod I'm about to marry Hercules. Ohmondeau ohmondeau ohmondeau.
I couldn't stop that sentence from racing in and out of my brain. Thanks to my high school years of musical theater, I knew how to look calm while internally screaming, but that didn't make this day any less agonizingly beautiful.
I looked up at Hercules, who was nervously fiddling with his tie. I walked onto the platform and straightened it for him, then held his hands.
"I see you've got the hand part down," the priest laughed, rolling his eyes, "since you've written your own vows, you can go ahead and recite them."
I gave Herc an encouraging nod, and he began his vows. "Laf," he gazed into my eyes, and everyone else melted away, "first, I love you, I love you so fucking much." The priest cleared his throat, and Herc muttered an apology. "Whenever I hear these vows, it seems like the people who said them experienced love at first sight. I'll admit that when we first met, I didn't think I'd be standing here like this today, but now, I can't imagine it any other way. I just never want you to forget how much I love you, and now I can spend every day reminding you, for the rest of our lives."
The entire audience gushed in their seats, and I almost fell over right then and there. I took a deep breath and began to recite my vows. "I remember when we first started dating," I started, trying to blink he tears out of my eyes, "you had to help me with my English, because I wasn't fluent. I remember how ecstatic I was when you taught me to say I love you. I could finally put my feelings about you into words you would understand. But Herc, you didn't just teach me to say I love you, you taught me how to love, and I'll never forget that, never."
Herc beamed at me, squeezing my hands. "May I have the rings, please?" Despite his best efforts to hide it, I could see the priest had teared up from our vows. "I think you know the drill, just get on with it."
Peggy came up with the rings, beaming like a proud mother. "With this ring, I be wed," Herc said as I slipped the ring on his finger.
I did the same as he slipped the ring onto my hand. I looked up, and we stared into each others eyes, completely in love with each other.
"Oh, just kiss already," Alex yelled from behind Herc, and he pulled me into a sweet, loving kiss.
"Alright, you're hitched, now get on with your lives!" The priest threw his hands into the air and walked out, leaving us to celebrate. Herc and I walked out, hand in hand, ready to start our life together.A/N: aye okay so sorry I didn't update sooner but I hope it was worth the wait.
