Chapter 42

Connor - Good morning sunshine

Every morning I wake up, I get some kind of text from Connor, I don't know if it's meant to make me happy, or he's just being nice, but it works, I wake up with a smile every morning

Alex - good morning Connor

Connor - Alex, you do know it is now 1:45 in the afternoon. You mean good afternoon Connor.

Alex - good afternoon Connor

I put my phone to my side then close my eyes once again, Ihave always been so tired but my therapist doesn't want me to sleep my days away like I used to, so I slowly get out of my bed and walk over to dads room to see him still snoring away in bed, I lay down beside him and close my eyes

After awhile dad stops storing and he coughs "Alex what are you doing" he asks

"I actually was going to tell you something, but you were sound asleep" I say

"When did you get home?"

"I think around 1?"

"What took you guys so long ? I know you just went to Taco Bell for dinner"

"We went shopping then we walked home from the mall" I say then dad nods

"We're having another party" dad laughs "It's a surprise party for Dom actually, like a welcome back"

"When?" I ask

"Tonight" dad says so I nod "and lots of people think that it's weird that you're 18, and I'm 24, I would've had you when I was like 7 years old"

"Are you sending me back?" I ask

"Alex-" I cut dad off

"No Jc I get it! Everyone had me for a little while until they got rid of me, I'm used to it. But I can't go back now because I'm 18, I'm leaving, I'll go find somewhere to live" I then get up and walk over to my room

I knew it was going to happen some day, I didn't know if was going to be so soon.

I walk to my room and lock the door behind me I lay on my bed as Jc knocks on the door "I wasn't kicking you out! Or saying I won't be your adoptive father" I look to my door then open it and stare at dad "I was just saying maybe we could be more like brother and sister, cause my mom wants to adopt you, she's been seeing comments"

I cross my arms and walk back to my bed "but I told her it's up to you,  what do you want Alex?"

I stare at Jc who was still standing in the door way I shrug my shoulders "I don't care"

"Well you better get used to calling me brother" Jc laughs "I still have custody over you so you don't have to move to Texas with mom"

I nod

"Alex, are you mad? Please don't be mad at me"

"I'm not" I laughed

"Okay great okay" Jc says "we gotta go out to target to get shit after my shower" he then walks out leaving the door opened.

I lay on my bed and cover up closing my eyes, I'm not going with them I want to sleep.

"Alex" kian says so I pretend I'm sleeping, he then opens my curtains making me groan "ah there's the sleeping beauty" he smiles then jumps onto my bed and lays down beside me
