Destiny's game was never fair. Masyado naman ata kaming pinaglalaruan, of all people pinsan ni Yael pa talaga at ako ang naka-arranged marriage? I've met Axel once, noong dinala ako sa Batangas ni Yael.
"I supposed you already know each other" Tita Elen said with a smile.
"Ma ano 'to? Is this kind of a joke? Hindi nakakatuwa" Yael said, nagulat ako, bakit ayaw n'ya kay Axel for me? The last time I checked they're in good terms may nangyari ba?
"Do you think family business is a joke?" She retorted, I've always seen Tita Elen's angelic side, but this time she looks like a wicked step mom from the fairy tales. "I thought you and Ali will work out kaya hindi ako nakialam but turns out both of you are not meant to be so I decided to draw my last card"
Axel lost his parents when he was 7, kaya naman ang family na ni Yael ang naging guardian n'ya, after all blood related naman sila.
"Mom, hindi dahil hindi ako pumayag ay kay Axel nyo ipapasa yung plano n'yo, he's human too, just because you raised him doesn't mean you can control him, mahiya naman kayo sa namayapa nyong kapatid!"
He stormed out, sinundan ko s'ya, I can't believe what's happening. Sobrang gulo na, hindi ko alam kung paano namin ito malulusutan.
Nakarating kami sa parking lot ng hotel.
"I'm sorry" hindi ko alam bakit ako nagsosorry pero it felt like I needed to say it.
He just looked at me.
"I had a deal remember? Na kapag hindi nagwork I'm not gonna marry anyone" I assured him.
He sighed and reached for my hands. "Look Amethy, I'm not mad because you're Axel's fiance," he cupped my face, "Wala namang may kakayahang tumanggi sa isang katulad mo"
I don't know why pero ang bilis ng tibok ng puso ko ngayon. He made my stomach do sommersaults.
"I'm mad because, I shouldn't feel this way, I'm... I'm confused, I know I still love Ali, pero alam kong I feel something for you"
Next thing I know, yakap-yakap na n'ya ako.
"I don't want you to marry my cousin"
I reciprocated the hug.
"I'm not gonna marry anyone," I paused, "Unless,I love him"
"Then marry me instead"
