(The moment you've all been waiting for)
★
Months had passed until the day had come.
The wedding day.
John and Ringo had been separated and they were both nervous. Shaking, definitely excited, mostly overwhelmed.
"You okay?" Paul chuckled and helped John with his tie. "You look horrible!"
"Do I really?" John bit his lip and made a run for the mirror in the empty room.
John was pale. His lips were turning a bright red from all the biting and nibbling he'd been doing. His normally half closed eyes were wide open, you could see all the mixtures of brown and black in them. His fingers were fidgeting, he couldn't seem to get them to stop moving.
His tux was clean, his tie was crooked from all the time he spent fixing it. John was going crazy it seemed. His hair was made up neatly, Paul helped him comb it back so that it wouldn't be a bother for when the pictures had to be taken.
"Do you think I'll mess up the vows?" John turned to Paul and let him adjust the tie once again.
"No, you'll be fine." Paul chuckled. "It's just last minute jitters."
"Oh speak for yourself," John groaned. "He's so special and this is the first wedding for the both of us. I just want it to be perfect for the both of us."
"Y'know I've never seen you like this," Paul smiled. "You seem so nervous. Like you have no idea what's to come for the next few hours. For the next few days. For the next few years actually. You look like you're so worried about the future and what's to be expected of it. And it's so interesting to see you like this. I never thought I'd have to hand over one of my friends to my other friend. It's funny how things like this play out sometimes y'know."
"Thanks for doing this Paul," John wrapped his arms around Paul and pulled him in for a hug. "Thank you for all of this."
Paul hugged him just as tightly and pushed back his hair.
"Let's not keep the people waiting," Paul chuckled. "We wouldn't want you to be late for your own wedding huh?"

John wanted to cry.
His fiancé looked amazing in a suit. His blue eyes were sparkling when he looked up, and John just wanted to kiss him but that'd have to wait until after they are pronounced husband and husband.
John couldn't help but hold his reach out for his hand, smiling when he saw the older man blush slightly.
Nervous? John mouthed. Ringo looked down and chuckled softly.
A bit. He admitted.
No need, I'll be right here the whole time. John grinned when he saw Ringo nod.
You're supposed to. We're the ones getting married. Ringo mouthed and John couldn't help but laugh at the remark.
The family from each of the men smiled knowingly when they saw the little conversation that the men had while the man behind them read from a paper. Love. It was so beautiful between the two.
When John looked back he saw his Aunt Mimi, she had raised him when his mother couldn't. He saw his Aunt Mater, she flashed him a thumbs up and he couldn't help but blush. He saw his two half sisters, giggling and making funny faces at him, making a heart with their hands and flashing it up at the pair.
When Ringo turned around he saw his mother Elsie blow him a kiss. He grinned and waved at her shyly. He saw his step father wink at him. He saw his good friend George stick out his tongue good heartedly. He saw his friend Keith who was making faces at him and puckering up his lips, making a kissing sound that could be heard from all the way up in the alter.
When they both looked back they saw Julian and Sean watching them with amazement, giving them thumbs up and smiling so wide that it looked like their lips must've hurt.
There weren't many people there. Only about 80. But that didn't mean that they weren't nervous.
"The couple would now like to exchange vows," the man looked at the two expectantly and John blushed. "John?"
John looked down and fumbled around in his pockets for a crumpled piece of paper. Ringo giggled and peeked over to try and see what was written in the page.
All he was was John's god awful handwriting, chicken scratch was what Ringo liked to call it, and he couldn't help but stifle back a laugh.
"Ritchie," John cleared his throat. His hands were shaking and voice was wavering. "Two and a half years may not seem like much, but for me it's been my entire life. I've seen my kids grow, I've seen my eye sight somehow get even worse than it already is, and I've felt myself start to get older with the man that I love. My sense of time might be off but I feel like you've been there since the beginning. But in this marriage I hope that time keeps up happy forever, like the stars in the sky I want us to be timeless."
John looked up and saw that Ringo's eyes were watering. He tried to wipe away the tears but John beat him to it, caressing his cheek before wiping away the small tears in the corners of his eyes. Ringo smiled softly and took John's hand from his cheek, holding it tightly and he took a deep breath and looked into John's eyes.
"Johnny," his voice had cracked a bit and both families let out a small giggle. Jitters. Common. "I never thought much of love until I laid eyes on your kids. They were enchanting, they were carefree, they loved me. They hugged me, told me they loved me, and little Jules tried to hook me up with you. But when I finally met you, god I couldn't stop thinking about you. And when you kissed me? God I was walking on air for weeks! I never thought I'd be as enchanted by someone as perfect as you until the day I met you. You're amazing and I can't wait to see how the rest of our years together play out. I love you with all my heart."
John wanted to fucking cry. He was too sweet to him. Way too sweet to him.
"The rings. We will now exchange the rings." The man smiled.
John turned around and fumbled with the rings. He handed one to Ringo and smiled when he saw him shake.
John was first, he took the ring and slipped it onto Ringo's finger. He kissed the ring securely and smiled when he heard Ringo giggle.
Then it was Ringo. He was shaking a small bit as he slipped the ring onto John's finger and made it official. He held onto John's hand tightly, still shaking like crazy.
They looked up and blushed. John pushed back a strand of Ringo's hair and watched as he smiled that bright smile he always loved to see.
"Well, now that they have exchanged rings I think you all know what's coming next. Congratulations Mr. and Mr. Lennon-Starkey, you may now kiss the groom!"
John grinned triumphantly and pulled Ringo closer to him, letting his lips brush against the older man's before finally kissing him, confirming their marriage.
Around them were cheers from both families. They whooped at each man and started roaring with cheers when they saw John's hand go down to Ringo's arse. They even got a wolf whistle!
They pulled away, John with a smirk and Ringo with red cheeks. They'd done it.
Married married married. They were fucking married!
