Boxes littered the lobby to the apartment building of John's home.

He was helping someone move into the building.

"Hey babe," he called out to Ringo. "What's in this box?"

"Don't shake it!" Ringo laughed. "Even I don't know what's in there."

"Fine," John mumbled and punched the button to the elevator. "But I wanna open it when we go upstairs alright?"

"Deal." Ringo smiled and followed John into the big elevator.

Moving in, moving in. Ringo was going to move in with them.

It was a few months after they had said they loved each other to say that they were ready to move in. Finally.

The kids were both at school, Sean had just started a few months ago and he was excited. If only Julian had that much enthusiasm for education.

They had managed to bring in more than half of the boxes in a day and well, maybe they could get Sean and Julian to do the rest.

"Can I open it now?" John whined as he kicked open his door and searched for an empty space on the table.

"Fine." Ringo chuckled and sat down next to him.

John was barbaric with the tape. He tore the tape off the other side of the box, almost tearing the box itself in half. Ringo yelped and pulled away slightly, scared of having John's elbow hit his cheek or something.

Inside was a bunch of rings. No wonder the box was so fucking heavy. John laughed and dumped out the contents from the box, watching them as they clanged down and hit the ground with heavy thumps and change.

Rings, beautiful rings. Not casual like the ones that Ringo wears on a daily basis. And not at all male either. Feminine ones, thin silver etching around large square diamonds or emeralds. Beautiful rings, rings that made Ringo smile sadly as he traced he outline of one in between his forefinger and thumb.

"Whose are these?" John asked.

"Me mum's," Ringo smiled. "Beautiful aren't they?"

"Very," John wrapped an arm around his shoulder when he saw his eyes begin to water. "Did she give them to you?"

"Mhm," Ringo nodded and buried his head between the crook of John's neck. "Gift before I moved to New York."

"That's very sweet," John had traced his fingers across Ringo's pale cheek. "I'd love to meet your mother y'know."

"Really?" Ringo giggled. "She'd love you so much that she'd beg for you to marry me."

"Marry you eh?" John smirked. "You make it sound like a challenge."

"Oh please," Ringo rolled his eyes. "The kiddos want us to get married anyways. Remember what Julian said?"

"Oh god don't remind me," John groaned, cheeks red when he heard Ringo laugh. "He's gonna go berserk when he finds out you're moving in."

"Moving in?" A shocked gasp. Two children looking at the men with wide eyes.

"Ringo's moving in?" Sean smiled.

"I thought class didn't end until 3 for the both of you." John let out a nervous chuckle and looked at Ringo with shock.

"It's 3:16 Daddy," Julian tapped his watch and ran over to Ringo. "But is it true? Is he moving in?"

"Well they'll figure it out eventually so they might as well know now," Ringo giggled and held out an arm for both Sean and Julian. "We've done some deciding and we agree that it's time that I move in!"

"Moving in!" Sean exclaimed and wrapped his arms as best he could around Ringo's waist. He buried his head on his stomach and took in his smell that he'd always cherished since day one. "We can finally be a real family!"

"Yeah!" Julian laughed and wrapped his arms around his upper torso. "You'll be part of the family now!"

"Boys," John smiled and kissed his lover's head. His arm was already around his shoulder. "He already is a part of this family. This is just another step to making it official."

"Well what's the other step?" Sean asked, settling himself onto Ringo's lap.

"Well," John blushed. "Marriage."

"Do you think you're ready for that?" Julian bit his lip. Both men looked at him nervously.

"In time of course we will." Ringo said and ruffled his hair. "But not now. One thing at a time, right?"

"Right," John blushed. "Not just yet."

He was ecstatic. Ringo did want marriage. Sure they'd have to wait, but it seemed that it was something to look forward to in the nearby future.
