One cold day
I woke up the next day feeling odd. I slip out off my bed and went to the bathroom to wash my face. I stared at the mirror gazing my face and look how the water flows through my cheeks. I immediately grab my towel and dry my face. I went down and saw mom fixing our breakfast.
“Morning Mom.” I said as I sat down and mom put a plate full of pancake in front of me.
“You look troubled dear.” She said as she sat next to me.
“I just feel a little weird.” I said as I poked the pancake with my fork.
“Let’s talk about it.” mom said as she moves her plate and move closer to me.
“I don’t know how to tell it to you, ‘cause I’m pretty confused as well.” I said as I continue to poke my pancake.
“Oh dear.” She said as she patted my head, “I think you need to unwind.”
“I think so too.” I said as I put a slice of pancake into my mouth.
I climbed upstairs and took a shower. I put on a plain black shirt and a leather jacket. Mom said that a dark color clothes will make me warmer, because it will reflect the cold weather. I slipped through my jeans, my black converse shoes and put a pair of gloves on my hand. I put the journal in my bag and a beanie.
“Mom, I’ll just go outside.” I said as I went down.
“Ok dear, be careful ok?” mom said.
“I will.” I said as I give her a quick kiss on the cheeks.
I went out and I felt the cold breeze pass through me. I walk until I reach the park and went to the tree where we three used to be. I slowly went up and sat on the bark of the tree. I look through the city and grab the journal on my bag.

Josh and I hang out today, Josh even invited Gale but he had a basketball practice so he couldn’t come with us. So Josh and I went alone together, we watched a movie, eat out and had fun. I think Josh is fun to hang out with. Even though I miss Gale but I can’t do anything, now that she has a girl that he likes, I think I better distance myself to him, so there wouldn’t be any conflict. I think it’s better to find some new friends, but I won’t forget about Gale he’s the only friend I’ve got when Bianca passed away and he’s the one who comforts me. I owe Gale a lot, and I think I need to give back.

I asked Josh to help me out with a plan for Gale; I’ll just thank him in a way that he can never forget. So Josh and I went to buy a recipe book. I planned to bake him some cookies and give it to him that’s the only thing that I can think of right now, I know it sucks but if I made it myself, I think he’ll appreciate it. So after Josh and I went out to buy it, we went straight at home and start making them. At first it was hard because neither Josh nor I know how to cook. So we took several tries until we finally made a perfect cookie, I guess. So I plan to give Gale the cookies tomorrow after his practice and have a talk with him for a while. It’s been weeks since we have a long nice talk to each other, and I hope my plan will be a success.

The journal slipped through my hand and fell down on the ground, I immediately went down to pick it up, but for my surprise Mr. Patterson shows up.
“Hello Sam.” he said as he handed me the journal.
“Nice to see you Mr. Patterson.” I said as I smile to him and held the journal.
“So what are you doing here?” he asked as he put his hands on his pockets.
“Just unwinding.” I said,
“Oh, by the way where did you get that journal?” he asked.
“Someone gave it to me sir.” I said as I looked at it.
“Oh, is that so. I think you should better go home now, it’s pretty cold here and you might get a cold.” He said, I remembered that gift that I bought Mr. Patterson,
“Sir, can you wait for me here for a moment, I’ll just get something at our house.” I said.
“Oh, Ok. I’ll wait for you here.” He said,
“I’ll be right back.” I said and ran as fast as I can. I went straight to my room and grab the gift and went outside and ran towards the park. I saw Mr. Patterson sitting on the bench waiting for me and as he caught a sight of me I saw him smiling.
“Here it is.” I said as I was catching my breath and handed the gift to him.
“Oh, that was fast.” He said as he held the gift, “Why thank you.”
“Happy Holidays.” I said and smiled at him
“Happy holiday too Sam.” he said, “Better go now, the air a bit chilly.”
“OK, Bye sir, see you next year.” I said as I waved my hand.
“See you.” He said and he walked away and I turn my back where our house was located and start walking too.
I felt the air pass through me and I grab the beanie inside m y bag and put it on my head. As I reached our house mom was making some hot beverages and by the time I turn my head on our living room I saw Mrs. Baker, she was sitting quietly on our living room and reading some magazine. I went up to mom and kissed her on the cheeks and she told me to give the tea to Mrs. Baker which I did and Mrs. Baker smiled to me and said thanks. I went upstairs in my room, drop my bag on my bed and changed my clothes. I went down and sat beside mom, who was talking to Mrs. Baker about some house stuff.
Mrs. Baker left our house and mom told me to pack my things for tomorrow, we’ll be heading to our grandpa’s place for the holidays. I quickly went upstairs and pack my things, since we’ll be there for 3 days, I packed about 8 pairs of clothing, 2 jackets and some pack some personal things to bring with me. I put my presents in a separate bag and climb down stairs to have some dinner with mom and dad.
“Have you finish packing?” Mom asked.
“Yes.” I said as I take my seat next to mom.
“You sure you didn’t forget something?” Dad added.
“Yes, I’m pretty positive about that.” I said as I smile at him.
The three of us had dinner together and by the time we finished cleaning up, our phone suddenly rings.
“I’ll get it.” I said as I put down the plates next to the sink and went to the phone.
“Hello?” I said to the other line, there was a moment of silent and finally he response.
“Hello, is Sam there?”
“Yes, speaking.” I said as I try to know who it is.
“Hey, I hope you still remember me.” He said.
