I feel more at ease now that Gale is always there beside me. Gale and I always bond together under the shaded tree where the three of us used to be. Gale usually comforts me and tells different stories about his life before he move in here. I remembered that he said a while ago that he used to play the piano. I was very shocked at that moment, because he never told that to us before. We only knew that he used to be a normal kid without talents, but then I guess we’re wrong.

Today, after we had our little chat under that tree, Gale invited me to their house to watch him play the piano. His parents went off to the grocery store to buy Gale some food for the weekend, because his parents will be gone for the whole weekend. Gale and I went to the living room and he plays the piano. I was sitting next to him and starring how he plays the piano. I closed my eyes after a few second and I can feel myself swaying to its beat. Gale startled me by the moment he stop playing and tap m on the shoulder. “Don’t sleep.” He said and I just laugh at him by the moment he told me that and through the night Gale just played the piano for me and we both had a fun night.

I went out of my room and I saw mom preparing some pancakes. I went to her and said, “Good morning mom.” She was startled and almost dropped the plate she was holding, “Oh! Dear!” she said as she hold her breath, “Why are you here, you should rest in your room.”

“Mom, I’m fine. Don’t worry.” I said as I hole her hand.

“But Nathan said that you fell from a tree and pass out yesterday. He even carried you home.” Mom said as she put the plate aside.

“He carried me?” I shouted.

“Yes dear, we we’re shocked to by the time he knock on our door and you we’re at his back. He even stayed here last night, but you didn’t wake up so he went home before midnight.”

“He even did that? Ohmy. I don’t know what face should I show him.” I said as I started to feel uneasy.

“just thank him, that’s the least thing you can do now.” Mom said as she continues to prepare the food. “By the way, I told Grandpa that we couldn’t come because of your situation so we’ll go there by next week.”

“Oh, poor grandpa, he’s expecting to see us this weekend but I fail him.”

“It’s ok dear, Grandpa will understand, come on let’s eat now.”

Mom and I ate the pancakes together while dad’s at work. As I finished my breakfast, I washed it and went up stairs to wash myself. As I was washing my hair, a muscle on my left shoulder just hurt and by the time I checked it. I saw a bruise, it was bleeding that time and I washed it on running water, I can feel the pain the bruise is giving me and I went out of the bathroom and dry myself up and went to mom. As soon as she saw my bruise she freaked out and grabs our medicine kit. Bu the time my mom is half way done, someone knocks on our door. Mom opened it and I saw her looking at me.

“Mom, who’s there?” I said,

“It’s just Nathan dear, he’s just here to check you.” She said as Nathan went in and mom closed the door.

By the time Nathan was walking towards me I can’t help to dodge his looks.

“Hey! Are you alright now?” he asked.

“Yes.” I said as I bow down my head.

“It looks like you’re not.” He said as he went closer to me.

“I am.” I said.

“Let’s take a look at that bruise.” He said as he went around and looks at my left shoulder. “This looks bad.”

“It’s ok, I’m fine you don’t need to worry, you’ve done so much.” I said as I try to look at him.

“No, it’s ok, Abby might get mad at me and she’ll say that I didn’t take care of you.”

“Abby can do that?” I asked. “So, that’s the reason why you’re looking after me every time” I said,

“Nathan I’m ok, I can take care of myself. You should enjoy yourself and meet some other friends too.”

“Sam, it’s ok. I did this too because I wanted too, not because someone asked me too.” He said as he keeps on examining my shoulders. “Sam, you should be careful next time, OK?”

“Nathan.” I said with a soft voice.

“Here’s a juice for you Nathan, you can sit there, while I’m finishing Sam’s bruised shoulder.” Mom sad as she tap Nathan.

“Ok, I’ll just watch here.” He said.

As mom is cleaning and putting some bandages on my bruises I can’t help to look at Nathan and by the way he looks at me. I’m feeling uneasy and uncomfortable, because Nathan’s there watching me, watching my mom. By the time mom finished it up. Nathan walks towards me and said,

“I’m going to show you something.” He said as he grabs my hand.

“Aunt. Dianne, can I take Sam for a walk?” He said.

“Oh sure dear, that’s pretty kind of you.” Mom and gives a weird smile on me.

“I’ll bring her back here before the sun sets.” He said and we went outside our house and started to walk.

“Where are we going?” I asked as I struggle to let go from his grip.

“Just walk and you’ll see.” He said as he puts a smile on his face and held my hand even tighter.

As we’re walking through the neighborhood and through the park, Nathan asked me something.

“Can you close your eyes for a while and trust me for a moment?” he said as he was standing in front of me.

“For as long as you’re not going to do something weird.” I said.

“I’m certain that this is not weird.” He said and went at my back and covers my eyes. As we walk together while his hands are on my eyes I can’t help to smile and I don’t know why.

“Here we are.” He said, as he slowly put down his eyes and hold my shoulder.

As soon as he drops his hands from my eyes, I open my eyes and I was moved to what I saw at that very moment. I don’t know what I should feel, or what I should do, but the last thing I can think of is to say thanks to Nathan.

“Thanks.”
