Let me take you back
“Sam, let’s go.” Nathan said right after our class is over.
“Wait.” I said as I quickly fix my things up, “Oh! Wait I’ll just talk to Zoe.”
“Zoe!” I said as I went to her seat,
“What is it Sam?” she said as she stands up.
“Can I ask you about your Grandma?” I said as I went closer to her to whisper it to her ears.
“Oh, what about her?” she said
“There’s something between your grandma and my grandpa and Nathan’s grandma.” I said as took a deep breath after saying those words.
“What is it?!” she said as her eyes widened up.
“Your grandma was my grandpa’s ex girlfriend.” I said and paused for a while waiting for her reaction but she just gave me a blank face, “Hey, are you there?” I said as I wave my hand over her face.
“Y…yes.” she said as she blinks, “grandma never told me anything about that, I guess she doesn’t want me to know about her past.”
“Do you know anything about a journal that she keeps?” I asked her and I stared directly on her eyes,
“Journal?” she said as she tilted her head sideways,
“Yes, an old journal. Have you seen anything like that?” I said,
“Nope, I never saw a journal, but she told me something about it.”
“Oh! What did she said?”
“Grandma told me something about her friend, and I have a feeling that the one she’s telling me about is Nathan’s grandma.” She said,
“What is it?” Nathan suddenly said,
“She said that she once had a boyfriend and that boyfriend of her has a best friend.” She said,
“And then?” I said,
“Her boyfriend’s best friend gave her a journal.”
“So what happened?” Nathan said,
“She didn’t gave it to her boyfriend instead she just kept it. She said that she’s scared that he might go to his best friend and leave her. So that’s why all these years she just kept that journal with her.” Zoe said and suddenly, “Wait! How did you know about the journal?”
“She gave it to me, your grandma gave it to me.” I said,
“Why d..”
“She said that she doesn’t have the courage to give it to Nathan’s grandma, so she just gave it to me.”
“But why did she give it to you?” Zoe said as we started to walk outside the room.
“I don’t know either, maybe because my grandpa is her ex boyfriend?” I said and suddenly I notice something, how did she know that I’m related to Gale?
“I guess so.” She just shrugged
“Thanks for your time Zoe; I need to go to Nathan’s place today. See you tomorrow.” I said as we parted our ways.
Nathan and I walked together that afternoon, something’s not right here Nathan’s not saying any words right after Zoe and I part our ways, what could possibly be on his mind right now, is there something wrong?
“Nathan.” I said as I turn to him, he just looked at me and continue to walk, his mouths shut and his eyes are giving me blank expression. “Hey! Is there something wrong?”
