The Journal
I went home that night and left the journal at their place, Nathan said to me that I should come over tomorrow as soon as I can and I promise him that I would. As I reached our house mom asked me where I was the whole day, I just look straight into her eyes and think if I should tell her what happened. If I should tell her that I found Mary.
“Sam, What happened? What’s with the straight face?” mom said as she approach me
“Nothing, I’m just tired.” I said as I went upstairs and change my clothes.
“Sam” I heard mom said as she knock through my door. I opened my door and there I found my mom standing and a tray on her hand, “I brought you some cookies.” She said as she smiles at me.
“Mom.” I said as I rest my head on my wall.
“I think you need someone to talk too.” She said, I didn’t say anything, I just open up my door and mom went in. She sat on my bed and places the tray on my table.
“Sam, tell me what happen?” she said as I sit next to her. For a moment there I just look into her eyes and deciding if I should tell her, “Sam, please? Did Nathan…”
“No, he didn’t do anything.” I said as I lowered my head and slowly uttered the words, “I found Mary, the girl that grandpa loved.” For a minute there my mom’s eyes widened and her jaw almost drop, “Mom, please don’t tell grandpa about this”
“Why dear?” she said as she held my shoulder,
“Mary, she had lost her memory.” I said and for a moment there mom just look at me. “Mom, promise me, you won’t tell grandpa. I’ll tell grandpa myself. OK?”
“Ok sweetie, just tell us if you’re ready and we’ll go to your grandpa’s place, OK?”
“That’s a promise mom.” I said and held her hand, “I love you mom, thanks for everything.”
“I love you too sweetie” she said as she hugs me and kissed my forehead. “You should rest now sweetie.”
“Mom, can I go to their place tomorrow morning?” I said before she went out.
“Sure sweetie.” She said and smiles at me and left my room. I felt pretty relieve and happy for a moment there, it’s like a torn in my heart just got plucked out. After I finish up the cookie that mom gave me, I went to bed and sleep.
“Mom! I’m going.” I said as I grab my jacket and went out. I texted Nathan that morning and said,
“I’m on my way.”
“Ok, I’ll be waiting. Grandma’s still sleeping.”
“Ok. I’ll be there in a minute.” I texted and dashed off to their place,
As I reached their place I knock through their door and Nathan immediately opened it and greets me.
“Good morning Sam, Grandma just woke up.” he said as he kissed me on the cheeks.
“Morning.” I said as I smile at him and walk in.
“I’ll call grandma.” He said as he climbs up their stairs, I walk through their living room and sat on their couch, I saw the journal on top of their coffee table and it looks like Nathan didn’t touched it.
“Sam.” Nathan said as I saw them walking down the stairs.
“Good Morning.” I said as I stood up and look at Mary’s eyes. She just looks into my eyes as they walk towards me.
