Nathan's POV

As Sam went up to her grandpa’s room to inform that we’re going to take a walk, I was startled by the time that her dad went up to me.

“Hey Nathan.” He said as he sat up next to me,

“Hello Mr. Stone, happy holidays.” I said as I flash him a smile.

“So, I know that Sam and you are close friends but how close?” he said as he raised both of his eyebrows several times.

“Me and Sam? we’re close enough, I guess.” I said nervously,

“Hmm. So what do you think about my daughter?” he said as he lean over the couch.

“The first thing I noticed about her was her eyes; it’s beautiful like her mother. And I can tell that she’s pretty shy.” I said as I remember how I first saw her. It was her eyes and caught me, it’s just melted my heart in a different manner, my knees weakened whenever she stare at me or look straight into my eyes, I just like how those green eyes dazzle on the sun.

“I bet your right, I fell in love with her mother because of her eyes too.” He said as he laugh,

“So tell me, do you like my daughter?” he said and I don’t know what should I say, should I say yes and admit it or should I say no? “Don’t worry I won’t tell her and I won’t be angry if you like her.”

“Actually…” should I say it? Should I admit it? “I like her from the first time I saw her.” I said, finally.

“I thought so.” He said and for a moment there I felt the feeling of being accepted by her father.

“Hey!” Sam popped out of nowhere.

“Hey Sam, we’re talking about you.” I heard him said to Sam.

“What?!” she said as her eyes drifted to mine and for a minute there I don’t know what should I say.

“What?  Don’t worry I didn’t said anything bad about you.” I said as I scratches the back of my hair, i hope that didn’t look awkward.

“Don’t worry Sam, I guess you got a nice friend here.” her dad said and stood up, “Be safe you two.” And he turns away and walked up to Sam’s mom. Sam looked at me and I just shrugged, “I didn’t do anything.” I said.

“Ok.” She said and she went up towards their door and ready to go out.

“Hey!” I said as I try to catch her.

As she open the door I saw her hair flying through the air, I smelled her hair and it smelled like watermelon.

“It’s cold.” She said as she puts on her jacket and gave mine.

“It really is. Come on.” I grab her hand without thinking and I noticed that she immediately cast away her hand from mine and I looked at her, hoping that it isn’t awkward. “What?” she said as she tilted her head.

“ Nothing.” I said as I just continue to walk and put both of my hand inside my pockets, preventing form holding her hands again.

While we’re walking together I felt a sudden change in the air I look at her and I caught her breathing in and out and it’s weird.

“Hey!” I said as I caught her breathing in and out rapidly. “Are you ok? You look like you’re going to be sick?”

“I’m ok, I think I just need more air.” she said as she gasps another air “I think I had enough.”

“I think so too.” I said and I noticed something on her face, “You got..”

“Huh?” she said as she turns around her head towards me.

“You got something on your face.” I said as I leaned closer to her, ignoring the fact that I was touching her delicate face “Look, I think your face is still hungry.” I said and I can’t help to laugh at her and we continued to walk out of nowhere.

“Where are we going?” she asked.

“I don’t know either, let’s just walk, I like walking with you.” I said as I look straight where we are going. Did I just say that?

“What?” she asked and I saw her face shift up.

“I said.” I said as I stopped for a moment and look into her eyes, preparing myself to say my feelings for her.  “I like walking with you because I like you.” We froze there for a moment, waiting for her to respond and she just gave me this,

“Ha-ha! Nice joke.” I she said as she laughs at me, she thought that I was kidding?! What the!

“I’m not joking.” I said,

“You’re not?” she said and I felt the silence between us, awkward I shouldn’t say that, this might be the end of our friendship. I need to act fast,

“I was keeping this from you since the first time I saw you.” I manage to say to her, feeling my cheeks burning but I just ignored it, still looking at her face, waiting to what she would say next but she just gave me a look a look that I can tell that our friendship isn’t over.
