Guitar Pick
In just a week Nathan will be back in our school, I need to prepare myself. I took a deep breath and as I look at Zoe who was looking at me and waiting for me to play, I closed my eyes imagining Nathan was the one who was sitting right in front of me. As I open my eyes, I slightly smile at Zoe and started playing the guitar.
I know your face
Your eyes, your lips, your taste
I love the way
You know just what to say
It was a Saturday
Remember it like yesterday
He knew my name
Imagine that I know this road
The way that no one goes
So cold, so cold
Baby, you’re so cold, so cold
Take it easy baby, we can make it right
Boy, you know my live is always on your side
Rest your eyes tonight
You know that my love
You know that my love is on your side
I looked at Zoe who was looking at me with her big round blue eyes; I think she’s not moving. As I placed my guitar on my side and slowly went to her she just snapped out.
“Don’t move.” She said, still her eyes was wide open. “Did you just sing that song?”
“Y.yes? Why? Is there a problem?” I said as I froze there for a moment.
“It’s just P...Perfect.” she finally uttered as she flashes a smile to me and jumps over me, “Sam! You’re amazing! I didn’t know that you can sing that well.” She said as she wraps me in her arms.
“I didn’t know as well, not until you said that.” I said as I laugh and thank God that went well.
“So tell me Sam, for who is that song?” she said as she stretches her arms and hold both of my shoulder. I hesitated for a moment there if I’m going tell her my plan, if I’m going to tell her that I like Nathan. I took a deep breath for a moment and finally I’m ready to tell her the truth.
“It’s for Nathan.” I said as I waited for her response and the only thing I get from her was her jaw dropping.
“So you’re telling me that you really like Nathan?” she said still her eyes were lock into mine, and her gasp on me get even tighter.
“I think so,” I said as I tilted my head and led my eyes in a different place, she just shouted at me jump up and down, swivel around the room and finally she stopped but I can’t get rid of her loud voice screaming all over the place. I think it’s a bad idea telling her that, but I’m pretty glad about myself, I finally said to someone that I like him and for the truth I really do and no ones gonna stop me now.
Christmas vacation is over and here comes a new year for us, I immediately climb out of bed fix myself up, slip through my red shirt, jeans, my old sneakers and grab my bag on my way down.
“Mom, Dad good morning.” I said as I went down and went to them.
“Morning sweetie, looks like your excited for today?” mom said as she place a plate.
