Zayn's POV

I watched as Alex hit his Spider-Man piñata that Ben promised he'd get him.

He held a small thick stick and hit the piñata with it while everyone else stared at him with adoration and looked at him as if he were the most interesting person in the world.

Faith stood beside me as Alex kept hitting the piñata, waiting for it to crack and release the candy inside.

I had an arm wrapped around her waist, I wanted to keep her close to me. But I was also close to Alex in case he'd accidentally hit himself with the piñata or the stick, either one was worse.

Everyone was circled around Alex as he grew frustrated from not making a hole in the piñata and he looked pissed off in a cute way that I tried so hard not to laugh. He reminded me of myself when I was younger.

Small but determined. Oh, and the looks of course.

Harry and Anastasia both were filming with a camera, wanting to save this special moment of my son's birthday party so we'd be able to watch it years from now.

A part of me didn't want Alex to grow up, I wanted him all to myself and not have to share him with anyone else except Faith. I wanted him to stay as my little boy.

I've missed so much and to my dismay, the years went by fast.

It was only matter of a year until Alex would start pre-school and I wasn't sure how I was going to handle that.

I noticed how tense Faith was and I knew that she was thinking the same thing. She'd raised him on her own and to have to give him away, each year closer to when he'd head off to college and start his own life.

That'd probably be the worst day of our lives. We weren't ready to give up Alex, no parent was.

"Wow!!"

Alex gaped at his tenth present this evening, which was a Spider-Man doll.

Most of the presents he's gotten had to do with Spider-Man. Xavier got him a Spider-Man onesie, Ben and Sammy got him a Spider-Man leggo kit, Johnny got him a small Spider-Man car, Aaron and Mandy got him five Spider-Man books, Louis got him Spider-Man sneakers, Niall got him a Spider-Man soccer ball, Liam got him a Spider-Man bandana, and Harry got him a Spider-Man beanie.

Faith and I were appalled that everyone got Alex presents and were dedicated enough to buy him anything that had to do with his favorite superhero.

The only ones who didn't get Alex anything Spider-Man related were Anastasia and Faith.

Anastasia had gotten him a Jellybean maker machine and Faith bought him a golden necklace with his initials on it. AM.

I, on the other hand, bought him a drawing pad with 100 colored pencils, 50 markers, and 25 crayons.

Alex squealed when he saw it and ran into my arms while he still held the birthday present in his arms. My heart swelled and I patted myself in the back for getting him a birthday present he loved.

Anastasia and Harry took pictures with their cameras and later that night, Alex started getting sleepy so Faith and I decided to leave.

"Happy birthday, Alex!" Everyone yelled and he waved at them lazily as he laid in my arms, holding the birthday present I gave him and wearing the necklace Faith gave him.

Faith and I tucked Alex in bed, both giving a kiss on his small warm forehead as he still held onto the presents we gave him.
