Six Months Later
Faith's POV
Green and white. That was all I could see, all that surrounded me.
There was a cool breeze passing by as I stood around the yard. It wasn't too big and not too little. It was just right. I look over at the white tent, noticing the white empty chairs. Everyone had left to the party not too far away, where another tent was set up with tables and more chairs. The decorations were simple. White roses on the tables, white sheets, and white balloons. It was just how they liked it.
I stood on my own, watching everyone who surrounded me. I smiled to myself when I saw all of my friends together. Laughing, smiling, having a good time. Ben had his arm around Sam, his grey tuxedo accompanying her white dress. It was simple, and the details were perfect, as if it were made of roses. Their smiles were vibrant, never losing sight. It had been a long time coming. So many things happened, one of them being the worst experience of my life, but here we were. Together at Ben and Sam's wedding.
They talked to all of their guests, which weren't a lot given that they wanted a very intimate wedding with both of their families present and us, their friends. Mandy was helping around in a lilac dress, making sure that everything was as perfect as it already was. I couldn't help but look at the ring on her finger, another reason for my smile. Aaron had proposed two weeks ago while they were away on holiday. It was at a beach and it was just the two of them. He told us she cried the second he bent down on one knee and didn't let him go during the rest of the trip.
It was an amazing feeling to be able to see both of my best friends being happy with someone they loved. Ben and Sam got married and were hoping on trying for a baby in the next few months. They've been very impatient about starting their own family, and I was open to helping them with whatever they needed. And even though it had been two weeks, Mandy was going to start planning her and Aaron's wedding as soon as Ben and Sam leave for their honeymoon. She was just as ready to start a new chapter in her life.
All of us were.
My brother appeared from the back door, a grin on his face as he wore a black tuxedo and looking as happy as he's ever been. It might have had something to do with the fact that Anastasia was on his arm, wearing a long sapphire dress that she completely made her own. There were a lot of wounds to be mended between them, but with Jake's redemption and change in character, Anastasia had finally accepted to being his girlfriend again. It sent him over the moon when she gave in after months of trying to show her that he had changed. And he definitely did. He was happier, brighter, and back to the brother that I had grown up adoring. Seeing him happy made me happy beyond words.
"Momma!"
I turn to the little voice that always captivates me. My smile forms into a grin at the sight of my son running to me, his jet black hair messy but fitting like his dad's. His arms open up as he runs to me from the opposite side of the back yard.
I slowly bend down to get him, lifting him up with caution. "Hi, my little handsome boy," I laugh, grinning with adoration. "You doing okay?"
"Uncle Ben let me play with his puppy!" He says, pointing at the pup running around the yard. I couldn't help but laugh when I saw him wearing a bow tie, for sure something that Ben and Mandy had planned. "But Daddy says I have to eat first and - and then I can play with him again."
I smile, playfully touching his bottom lip. "Daddy's right, baby. Food first."
Alex wriggles in my arms, and it's not long before another voice joins in on the conversation.
"Be careful with Mum, mate."
My protective of a husband walks to us wearing the same tuxedo Alex has on. Black with a white button down shirt underneath and his hair looking the same mess as Alex's. Though, they pull it off nicely. It was almost like it was intentional.
