Faith's POV
After Alex showed me the macaroni necklace he made me, he did his five problem homework at the table while Harry helped him.
"And what's one hundred plus twenty eight?" Harry asked him as he helped Alex.
I watched as Alex thought for a moment in his smart little brain of his. I stood next to him on the opposite side where Harry sat while I waited for Alex to answer the last problem he had to do.
"One hundred twenty eight."
I grinned at how smart my son was and rubbed the top of his head before leaning down and kissing his forehead. "You're a smart boy, baby."
"Thanks mum." Alex gave me a cute smile before he started to put away his sheet in his Spider-Man folder. "Can I go and play now?"
"Yeah." I nodded while smiling at him.
"Good job, buddy." Harry held his hand up and Alex high-fived him before thanking him and running to his room to play.
I sighed and sat down where Alex was sitting. "I can't believe he's three and he's already this smart."
"Well you did read to him everyday and did things with him that made his little brain learn faster than your average baby."
"Yeah."
"At least now you know that you won't be worrying about his grades because I'm sure that with a brain like Alex's, he'll be getting straight A's throughout his whole life."
"I sure hope so." I agreed.
"Faith?"
"Hm?"
"Can I ask you something?" Harry's eyes looked sincere and nervous.
"Yeah." I told him and watched as he leaned forward and extended his hand to me before he held mine in his. What was going on? "What is it Harry?"
"I know that you're hurting right now and you know I'm here for you." His eyes looked into mine and all I could see was that he was speaking the truth. I could count on him. Always.
"And I thank you for that, Harry." I told him. "All of you have been so supportive of me and it means the world to have you guys."
Harry nodded but didn't release my hand. "I hate to ask this because I know that it's already a touchy subject to you but I can't help but think.."
"What Harry? It's okay, you can ask me." He was making me extremely nervous and I needed to know what he wanted to ask before I'd go into a nervous breakdown.
"Faith.." Harry's eyes didn't leave mine. It took a moment for him to speak again and when he opened his mouth, he asked, "What would you do if Zayn asked you for divorce?"
My heart had been fine until now that he asked the question. It stopped and I felt my body freeze and my head start to hurt. I have never thought of what he asked until now.
How would I feel if Zayn asked for divorce? No longer tying us together and letting us go into separate paths? What would happen to me?
I pictured the moment.
Zayn knocking on my door with a paper in his hands while I stared at him confusingly, wondering what the hell it was. I pictured Zayn looking at me blankly and telling me that he wanted to talk to me about something important. I would think that it had to do with Alex but he'd assure me that it had to do with us, not him. Well, not all him.
I'd see the sadness in Zayn's eyes as he'd look at me and wait to tell me the worst news. I'd ask him what was wrong and he'd take a long deep breath before handing me the papers while explaining what they were. And then I'd picture my world end.
