Zayn's POV
"What's wrong?"
"I don't appreciate you screaming at mummy like that."
I sighed, my hands holding the wheel even more firmly as I drove through the traffic. "I'm sorry, it won't happen again."
"You promise?" Alex asked.
"I promise." I said.
**
I held Alex's hand in mine as we walked though the amusement park while Dakota held my other hand.
She hasn't spoken to me since before we went to go pick up Alex and I knew that something was up by the frown she tried to hide on her face. I'll ask her what's wrong later.
Meanwhile, we were looking for a ride to go on that didn't do any loopy loops or be able to give me a heart attack.
I hated heights. And roller coasters.
"That one! That one!"
I looked at where Alex pointed and saw a train passing by with people and children boarding on it as it gave them a tour of the amusement park.
I smiled. No heights, no roller coaster, no heart attack, and no loopy loop.
We walked to the train stop and waited for the people to get off of it before we got on along with other people and children.
I settled Alex on my lap while Dakota sat beside me, still not saying anything. I ignored her silence and enjoyed the train ride with Alex.
I smiled with my son as we passed a couple rides, places in the park, and some fake animals they built on the side of the road where the train passed by.
I couldn't help by feel like something was missing. I ignored the feeling, knowing that that something was someone I couldn't have anymore.
I couldn't help but feel like a total dick for shouting at her back there when I went to pick up Alex. I shouldn't have yelled at her, she was sensitive.
I was just too stressed lately with what was happening between us that I let it all out in the worse way possible. I'm just glad that I hadn't done something else like hit her instead.
I wouldn't have been able to live with myself if I had. I wasn't that person.
"Daddy!" Alex called, and I turned my head to look at what he was looking at, a robotic zebra.
**
"Do you want to eat something, Alex?" I asked as we walked around the park after we'd gone on multiple rides.
"That!" He pointed at a man selling cotton candy in a ridiculously looking red and white uniform.
I nodded and we walked to the man with the multiple colored cotton candy. "Can we get one of those please?"
"Sure, what color?"
"Blue!" Alex yelled.
"Blue." I told the man.
"Here you go, little man." The man said as he handed Alex the blue cotton candy. "That'll be a dollar."
I handed him the dollar and nodded at him before we walked away. Alex had opened his bag and started eating the sweet while Dakota walked in silence.
I sighed. "Let's sit at the bench so you can eat, yeah?"
Alex nodded. There was cotton candy in his mouth and his hands had already gotten sticky.
