Zayn's POV

Both of us were on each side, holding onto one of Alex's little hands as we walked through the aquarium.

We got here ten minutes ago and were exploring, Alex leading the way.

"I wanna see the sharks!" He cheered happily. I wonder if Faith has taken him out on trips like these before..

As we walked to look for the sharks, women and their children passed by, occasionally some men with them but mostly women. I felt glances each person we passed, probably because of the way of how I looked.

It was no big fucking deal really, I wore a grey shirt and jeans, but I guess the looks were coming from the exposed tattoos I had on my arms.

What's so fucking bad about tattoos? I mentally asked them. It's not you are wearing regular clothes.

The women here were the rich white woman that would hire nannies to take care of their kids so they could go to the salon with their other rich white friends and talk gossip about the poor boy who got fired at Pizza Hut.

I ignored their stupid damn stares and continued to walk with my son and wife..? I don't know what to call Faith and I after she asked us not to have a relationship. Friends? Fuck no, that will not happen, she's mine and only mine.

Cutting off my thoughts, Alex let go from our hands and ran over to the shark tanks.

"Mommy, daddy, look!" He called after us, pointing at the great white shark staring back at him, either curious over the young child, or thinking about wanting to eat him.

If that were the thought on that shark's mind, I'd kill it right this second, not caring about having to break the glass and letting all the water run through the aquarium, if something or someone hurt Alex, they'd die.

Faith's POV

I watched as Alex touched the glass and grinned at the shark looking back at him.

I usually wouldn't bring him to these type of places. Mostly because I was busy with school, or because I wouldn't have enough money for everything.

But I was grateful that Zayn decided on taking us out after being kept in the small apartment. I didn't know why he decided on doing this, most likely because of Alex, but I felt like there was another reason.. A reason I couldn't put my foot on.

"Is it okay if you watch over him? I need to go to the bathroom but I'll be back."

Zayn looked over, away from staring at Alex and nodded. "Of course."

I smiled. "Thank you."

He nodded again and walked over to where Alex was standing, placing his hand on his little shoulder. Alex looked up to see who it was and immediately smiled when he saw it was his father. Zayn grinned down at him and began telling him something I couldn't hear. Seconds later they both laughed, grins on both of their faces.

After I washed and dried my hands, I exited the women's bathroom but quickly bumped into another female who was around her thirties.

"I'm sorry." I apologized, expecting to get a simple 'it's okay' but instead the woman holds my arm to keep me from going. "Um, is there something you need?"

The woman shook her head, her hand still on my arm. Luckily there weren't any people passing by so we wouldn't have to move. "Are you the girl with the kid and the tattooed fellow?"

"Yes." I grew confused.

"So he's your son as well as his?" Why is she asking me this?

"Yeah, he is." I don't know why I even answered her question.
