savannah's pov

"morning" johnson radiates with his morning energy. i never really was a morning person, so i sighed and sat up on the counter.

"hey" i replied, swinging my legs back and forth.

"what's up with you?" sammy asked.

"nothing" i replied.

they brushed off my answer and continued making their breakfast, but i was annoyed so i wasn't planning on holding it in any longer.

"i just don't get why nadine is here" i blurted out.

johnson bit into his toast, turning to me, "jack invited her".

"i know that, but why?" i questioned.

"well, why did you invite tristan?" he raised his eyebrow at me.

"okay, that's different" i protested. "nadine and jack aren't even a couple".

"i'm pretty sure that she doesn't believe that"
sammy laughed. "but i thought that you were okay with her now?".

"i never said that. i just said i could tolerate her and being around her wasn't uncomfortable anymore, but now she just gets on my last nerve" i told.

johnson gently squeezed my shoulder, "you'll live, savannah brooks".

they picked up their prepared breakfast and started leaving the kitchen.

"yeah, thanks for the advice!" i sarcastically called out just as jack entered, shirtless and in a pair of shorts.

"advice on what?" he recalled.

"just stupid stuff" i brushed off and he accepted the answer, going over to the coffee machine.

"two sugars, right?" jack asked, hinting out that he was making me some coffee too and i nodded.

"so, did you sleep with your eyes open then?" i grinned, gripping onto the edge of the counter.

"yes, i was so terrified" he exaggerated.

i looked down at my feet, continuing to swing them, "so, nadine's here now".

"yeah, i think i invited her on my birthday when i was really drunk" jack explained, causing both of us to laugh.

"so, where did she sleep?" i inquired. "in her own room or?".

"actually, she, um, slept in my bed" he responded. "but nothing happened, i was too tired any ways".

"no, you don't have to explain yourself to me, jack" i promptly told him. "i was just curious".

"okay, but her being here isn't too much of a problem though, right?" he handed me my cup of coffee.

"no, it's okay. who knows, we might actually learn to get along" i said, clearly being way too optimistic.

jack carried his own coffee and took a sip, as he paused just by me.

"by the way, yesterday was really fun" he informed me.

"yesterday?".

"with the lake and everything else" he continued.
