savannah's pov

when we landed in la, tristan took the next flight out back to london whereas jack and i thought we'd stay a little longer to visit our families.

as soon as the front door to my parents' house was open, my mom immediately embraced me with a tight hug.

"oh my god, my poor baby" she squeezed me, then held onto my cheeks. "are you okay? wait, of course not. you were in an accident and now you're injured. come in".

she helped me inside on my crutches whilst jack and johnson carried my bags behind, following us inside.

mom took us to the living room, where she sat me down and placed a pillow on the coffee table for me to rest my leg on.

she suddenly started to fix the pillow excessively, trying to make it as comfortable as possible.

"mom...mom, it's fine. the pillow is fine" i assured her and she gave in with a sigh.

"i'm sorry, honey" she sat opposite me on the table. "i was just so worried about you and—".

"oh thank god, you're home" my dad quickly came into the room from upstairs. he headed straight in my direction and bent down to hug me as tight as he could.

"hey dad" i spoke over his shoulder, before he released me from his hold.

"didn't i tell you to look after my daughter?!" he suddenly exclaimed at jack.

"greg," mom tried to say.

"no, before you moved to london, jack swore that he'd take care of you. did you not?" he inquired, waiting patiently for jack's response who stared anxiously at both my parents.

"i did, but—".

dad cut jack off with a scoff, "you clearly didn't, look at her!".

he pointed at my crutches and i huffed deeply at the escalation before me.

"dad, stop" i told him. "it was me who was driving, i was the one who crashed and got myself into this mess. jack had nothing to do with it, okay. you know he'd never do anything to hurt me".

"except be unfaithful to you with another woman" dad blurted out.

"greg, that's enough!" my mom immediately yelled at him.

i had no clue that my parents even knew about nadine and for my dad to bring that up, that's completely unfair.

i ran my hand through my hair with a deep sigh, "how did you know about that?...mom?".

"he overheard you talking on the phone to your sister" she replied.

"maybe i should just go" jack gradually started to walk out of the living room.

"that would be for the best" dad agreed.

"jack, don't" i stopped him.

"jack, sweetie. that's not necessary" mom sided with me.

"no, it's okay" he gave us both an assuring smile. "i'll be over tomorrow".
