as soon as i came through the front door, i sat down on the couch and groaned a loud.

from the moment that johnson told me to go and visit jack, i knew that it would be a bad idea, i knew that he'd be angry and i knew that he wouldn't want to see me.

but it just hurts more now that i officially know that jack wants nothing to do with me.

and for some reason, i feel guilty, even though i'm the one that's done nothing wrong.

my phone soon rang with a call and i quickly glanced at the caller id, before answering.

"so, how did it go with gilinsky?" johnson first asked and i sighed a loud, whilst i played with the tips of my hair.

"terrible".

"oh, shit. what happened?".

"he didn't want to see me" i said. "i told you that this would happen".

"okay, i'm sorry. but i'll talk to him to see what the deal is".

"the deal is that he hates me".

"don't say that" johnson told me. "i'll find out why then you can try again".

i pinched the bridge of my nose, wondering if i could manage jack rejecting my visit for the second time, "okay, thanks any ways".

"no problem, i'll speak to you later".

"sure, bye" i hung up the call and locked my phone, then decided to go in the kitchen and find some junk food for a lazy night in.

my heart raced as the guard held open the door.

the prisoners started coming in one by one and i silently hoped that jack would be one of them.

johnson had a word with him a few days ago and even though he never told me exactly what was said, he pushed me to try again, so i did.

and my wish came true when i saw jack saunter through the door in that same orange jumpsuit. i could hardly recognise him - messy stubble sat around his lower face, his physique was slightly skinner and there was barely any life in his eyes.

i couldn't quite get my heartbeat to stop speeding so fast as he sat down in front of me. jack hardly gave me any eye contact and put the phone to his ear, before i lightly cleared my throat.

"hi" i spoke almost inaudibly, although jack didn't respond and just stared directly at me. "last time, the guard said that you didn't want to see me".

once again, he remained silent and scratched his nose with the back of his hand.

"but i had to try again and—".

"why are you here, savs?" jack interrupted, and it wasn't until now that i realised it's been so long since anyone has called me that.

"because i know that i put you down on my visitation list, but that was before i found out that you're dating max now" he added.

i immediately narrowed my eyes in confusion, "what? that's not true, who told you that?".

"derek".

"well, derek's giving you false information because max and i aren't together, i swear. we're just...".

he bought his head closer, "you're just what? having sex?" jack suggested, but i shook my head.

"no. max and i, we're just a lot closer, okay? but it's completely platonic" i emphasised.
