savannah's pov
i paused in my tracks when i entered the copy room.
max was standing over the machine, waiting for the prints to come out and since i haven't spoken to him in over a week, i instantly turned back around.
"i'm almost done here any ways" i heard his voice say, so i sighed and decided to stand by the door.
"so how have you been lately?" he questioned.
i rolled my eyes, "i thought i told you not to talk to me".
"you're still on this?" he chuckled, glancing behind him. but since i didn't give him any sort of reaction except for a glare, he sighed lightly. "look, i'm sorr—".
"you said you were almost done?" i interrupted, not wanting to have this conversation.
"but how things went down between us was a mess, and i care about y—".
i cut him off, "no, you don't get to say that after everything that you've done".
max collected the printed paper from the copy machine, "okay, fine" he muttered, walking away to finally leave me alone.
i brushed past him and placed the paper inside the machine. i waited a while for the prints to come out, but with my luck, the words "paper jam" were written across the small screen.
my impatience got the best of me that i hit it with my hand, "stupid copier!".
"hey, are you okay?" max asked, and i didn't even realise that he was still around.
i pushed my hands through my hair and dropped my head. my hands leant against the machine as i began to realise that my emotions were more than just about the copier.
"i-i'm fine. just leave me alone" i said, my voice beginning to crack. i could hear his footsteps leaving across the carpet whilst i tried to hold in my tears.
i lifted my head and pushed my hair back, as my eyes grew cloudy.
"jack...jack and i broke up" i mentioned then turned around to see max pause by the door.
"what? why?" he inquired, walking towards me.
"he cheated on me" i shrugged, wiping my eyes before i weirdly enough let max pull me closer and hug me as i cried lightly onto his dark shirt.
once more people started to come into the room, he took me to his office for some privacy and i sat down on the chair opposite his desk, using the tissue that he handed me.
i explained to max what happened between jack and i, but only brief details because this isn't really something that i want everyone to be gossiping about.
"...and it's funny because his excuse was that he thought i was sleeping with you, so he went and did this" i explained. "i mean, i woke up this morning saying i'd get through this day without a single tear, but it's only ten and look at me".
max crouched down in front of me, "hey, it's okay".
i chuckled at myself, "i'm pathetic, i know, crying over a guy".
