savannah's pov

"oh, hey jack" i heard my dad say as he answered the door. "savannah's in the kitchen".

to be honest, i didn't think that jack would come today.

yesterday, he stayed even after we argued but we spent the whole night ignoring each other any ways.

i could feel lauren and andrea glancing at us throughout the entire movie. but i waited until jack had left half way through to explain what happened.

they told me that i had every right to be upset, but then they said that so did jack, and it took me a while to understand why.

i'm just still pissed off at him for pulling a stunt like that.

"go ahead in there, jack" my dad told. "i'm spending most of the day in the back — jen wants me to fix that bench before she gets home from work".

"thanks greg".

i sat paying my close attention to my laptop in front of me as i heard jack's footsteps enter.

"hey" he greeted.

i glanced over my shoulder and briefly smiled at him. i didn't even have to look back to know that he didn't expect me to still be mad.

but after he spoke, he started to saunter around the kitchen.

"...have you eaten?" he soon questioned and i replied by tapping the empty plate beside me with my fork.

i looked up from the laptop as i could feel his eyes piercing into me.

"you can help yourself though" i muttered and he did so by resulting into making himself a coffee.

he settled on the seat two away from me, clearly trying to give me the space that i need as we continued to hold an awkward silence between us.

"so what are you doing?" he inquired, taking a small sip of his coffee.

"work stuff and texting lauren on her break" i responded. "or you know, you could do it for me if you like?".

i gestured my phone to him and he sighed at my comment.

"there's actually a few unread messages on here somewhere, so feel free to choose which one you want to reply to without my knowledge" i added.

he scratched the back of his neck, "okay, okay, i get it. i deserved that".

after a while of continuing to not talk, i started to read the british vogue magazine in front of me to catch up more on what i've missed at work.

a call started to come through on my phone beside me and with my luck, it was from tristan.

i knew that jack saw it too, but i declined the call and continued to read again.

"why did you do that?" he wondered.

"do what?".

"decline the call".

"well, why did you go through my phone?" i asked.

"i already told you why, savannah".
