jack's pov

i've always hated sundays. they usually consist of me sitting on one end of the table, drowning in paper work and savannah on the other end doing the exact same.

we were sat in pure silence and the only sound heard was the typing on savannah's laptop. i looked up from my work and tapped my pen against jaw, staring at her opposite me before her lips edged into a smile.

"i can feel you staring at me, jack. so stop" she lightly blushed.

"am i not allowed to be mesmerised by your beauty?".

"not when it's sunday evening and i'm in sweatpants and no make-up" she told.

"but that's when you're the prettiest" i smiled, causing savannah to grin with an eye roll until silence filled the air and i began tapping my pen against the table.

i've always been easily distracted after working for too long, but i took this as an opportunity to try and postpone this paperwork as a whole.

"are you seriously trying to play footsie with me right now?" savannah glanced up, biting the tip of the pen in her hand.

i nodded, "i'm bored and watching you concentrate like that is really turning me on".

she raised her eyebrow and folded her arms across her chest.

"don't give me that look - you do it on purpose and you know it" i told her and she chuckled lightly until continuing to type consistently.

soon enough, savannah's phone vibrated against the table and she answered it, holding it freely between her cheek and shoulder.

"hey kendall...yeah, i'm slightly behind schedule and no where near finished...no, i can't get hold of him, but we can do without him until then" she explained through the phone.

i wasn't stupid, i knew very well that they were talking about max. but as a whole, it wasn't a bad thing since trying to ignore it actually helped me concentrate hard on my paper work once again.

it was just after dinner - i had finished all the work that i had been putting off for hours and was watching old walking dead episodes.

whereas savannah was still deep in her work with her half-eaten food getting cold on the side, and also on the phone to now, max.

"one sec...babe, could you put the volume down? i can't hear" she asked me and i decided to take off the tv as a whole since the episode was boring me.

i stood up and sauntered over to her, lightly massaging her shoulders, "baby, i thought that you were almost done".

"i know, but—".

"you need to take a break" i leant down and placed butterfly kisses all over her neck.

"hold on, max" she put the phone to her chest. "babe, i seriously can't afford distractions right now, i need to get this done".

i frowned, "so i'm a distraction now?".

"well right now, yes" savannah said, so i let go of her.
