Chapter 9: The Truth Comes Out

"Kakashi. What's going on?" Sakura said finally coming through. "We need to leave. You're injured and they need back up. It's 2 against 9 in there." Kakashi said. "7. I can see her. I see what she sees." I said. "Naruto is dealing with a good number. She's heading straight for the leader." I finished. I crouched down, holding my fore arm. I don't like her being there on her own. "Get out of my way!" I shouted, charging at Itachi. I skidded to a halt when I saw through her again. 

"Welcome to my office, once again, darling." Pein said. "Being here with you is no welcoming matter." She hissed. "Come to me, my dear." He said, moving to her. She went to strike only to be stopped by him. He grabbed her wrists and pinned them against the wall. What I saw next and felt made me livid. He was about to try and take what he shouldn't by force. And then it happened. I felt every bit of her pain. She was unable to move. Trapped in what felt like eternal torture. 

"No!!!!!" I screamed out. "Sasuke! What's wrong!?" Naruto asked, running outside. I couldn't speak and my entire body was shaking. "How dare he." I growled quietly. "Come on, Sasuke. Your main goal is to get rid of me. Why stop now?" Itachi said. "Move!" I growled and effortlessly plowed through him. 

After a brief moment of silence, Itachi's body fell to the ground with a loud thud. "I'm proud of you, Sasuke. This is all I wanted to see from you. And if it took a girl to make it happen, then she's not just anyone." Itachi began. "I never mean to harm her. She was intended to get to you." He continued. "Why are you so interested in her!" I shouted. 

"Because. She would make a lovely addition." He coughed. "TO WHAT!" I demanded, shouting at the top of my lungs. "The family." Itachi said. Silence fell. 

"When I saw her, I knew right away she had more to offer than an adorable face. I felt her power. Her strengths. Everything. I spared her so that when she was old enough, I could recruit her. Her mission wasn't to kill you or harm anyone in that village. It was to find you two. It was luck that you were put together. 

She was supposed to gather information on whatever team you were put in team and how you all function. And to get into your head and break you down. She did exactly that when I came to get her." Itachi said, struggling to even breathe.

I grabbed my head as I saw through her again. Her screams were haunting and the look on his face was careless. "That link you're seeing and feeling? It's her. She's losing grip on her abilities and chakra. That's how I know about her when I spared her. She's a very strong girl, Sasuke." Itachi said. 

"And it's clear that she feels for you as more than a friend and team mate." He continued. "SASUKE!" I heard her scream. "Save her. You have a new life to deal with now." Itachi said. Without another word, his eyes closed and he took his last breath. I hung my head. 

"He was doing it all for me. He wanted me to kill him. He wanted me to reach my full potential." I said. "Sasuke..." Naruto said, walking to me. An ear bleeding scream broke the tension and all attention was drawn back to the hideout. "Azamuku!" I shouted and took off inside.
