Chapter 21: Faster Than Sound

~Sasuke's P.O.V.~

I managed to spit out my gag and shuffle a bit. "Sakura's on her way here. Judging by how long ago she left, she should be arriving soon. If she's in the area, she can hear me." I told him. I felt him nod against my back. "SAKURA!" I shouted. I know this isn't the smartest decision but it'll get the job done. "SAKURA! HERE!" I shouted again. I heard foot steps approaching quickly. Please let this be her.

"Sasuke!" She cried, making her way into the tree base. "What is it?" I asked. "We thrive in the chaos of the enemy tide. Quiet shinobi don't need dens to hide. Our only concern is to watch and wait until the enemy lowers the gate." She responded. "Alright. Help us out of here." I said, struggling. She undid the ties and made her way back from under the tree with us following. "Thanks." I said. "Now let's get back to her." Naruto said.

"Not so fast." I said with my eyes closed. "Something isn't right." I continued. "What do you mean, Sasuke?" Sakura asked. "She's fighting two of them. There's a third one hiding in the shadows." I said. I saw the area around her as she fought and managed to see the figure more clearly. "No! It can't be! How is he back here!?" I shouted. "What is it?!" Naruto asked, in a panic. "Orochimaru. And he's going to mark Azamuku." I said, running off.

I heard them follow behind me, attempting to keep up. When I went back into her, I could hear us running and see Orochimaru ready his attack. "We're not gonna make it." I said, afraid. "AZAMUKU! BEHIND YOU!" I screamed. Through her, I saw her turn around just in time to dodge him. Right as she landed, on a branch above us.

"Gaara! Slow down!" I heard a female voice say. From the trees across the way, Gaara, Temari, and Kankuro revealed themselves. "While your tactic would have had me, there's nothing you can do to beat me." Azamuku said to Orochimaru. We pushed over to Gaara, letting Azamuku talk it up. "What is this? I can feel it. It's. Incredible!" Gaara whispered. "Let's not just stand there! She needs our help!" Temari said, ready to jump. "Don't." I ordered.

"That feeling you have, Gaara?" That's her." I said. "Huh!?" Temari gasped. "No way. Impossible!" Kankuro said. "Leave her to her battle. Those two picked the wrong girl." Sakura said, smiling. I glanced at Orochimaru and placed my hand on my neck. "Don't you dare..." I growled under my breath at him.

"Try this!" One of the sound ninja said, holding his arm in front of him. Azamuku immediately ducked and covered her ears. The force of the air and sound shattered the tree she had been on. She dropped to the ground in on all fours and immediately threw up. "That's all you got? Alright." She said grinning and wiping her mouth. "Play your music again. I wanna dance." She taunted, jumping at him.

"Her speed is incredible!" Temari said. "Still doesn't show for strength." Kankuro said, crossing his arms. Her body moved and dodged attacks effortlessly as if she were actually dancing. "Surely You can do better." She teased. She ran at him and nailed him in his stomach, making him drop to his knees and puke. "How's lunch taste?" She said. Spinning around, she quickly landed a round house kick to the second ninja's head.

"I'm getting bored. PLAY WITH ME!" She screamed as she launched herself into the air. "Shadow clone jutsu!" She shouted, creating two clones of herself. All three landed on a tree branch and she held out one hand. "You think that's going to stop us?" One of the ninja added. Kankuro was laughing as he watched. "No. I know it won't." She started as the clones seemed to move their hands over hers. "What is going on?" Temari asked. "I can see her chakra. Like. Physically see it!" Sakura cried. Naruto was staring in awe at the event before us.

A swirling ball of chakra sat in her hand. Before anyone could get a word out, the ball had been engulfed in flames. "Huh!?" Sakura said. "No way!" Kankuro cried. "But this will." She said leaping into the air. "FIRE STYLE!" She shouted. "HELL FIRE RASENGAN!" She finished, coming down on them the ball of chakra making contact with one of the ninja only to expand and take the other out along with it. The blast area that followed it nearly knocked everyone over as she stood over the two burning corpses.

"There's... No way possible!" Kankuro said. "Now." Azamuku said, looking over her shoulder at Orochimaru. "It's your turn." She said. "I know snakes like a good hunt. So let's play a bit of hide and seek." She said before taking off. Orochimaru laughed and licked his lips. "You'd be good to me, too." I heard him say before he ran after her. "AZAMUKU!" Temari cried. "Good to him?" I repeated, thinking for a second. I gasped at the realization. "EVERYONE! GO! SAKURA! NARUTO! HE'S GOING TO TRY AND MARK HER!" I shouted. Their faces turned to pure terror as they ran after him.

"Mark? What the hell does that mean?" Kankuro asked. I pulled down the collar of my shirt, showing them the curse seal that was placed upon me. "This is no joy ride. It will either kill her from the inside out... or leave her wanting to kill and grow in power." I said before running off.
