Chapter 46: A new leader

Months went by, each month her stomach getting a bit bigger. "What are you going to name it?" Temari asked. "Well we're hoping it's a girl. If so, then either Aniko or Mikoto." I said, leaning against the arm of the couch with Azamuku against me. A knock sounded at the door. "Who is it? Kankuro called, walking to it. "Message for a Sasuke Uchiha and Azamuku Chikara." The voice said. "That sounds like Kiba." She said. Kankuro opened the door and allowed them inside.

"It is Kiba." She said, getting up and smiling. "Azamuku. Lord hokage requests your presence today. We were sent where to escort you back." He said. "Alright." Azamuku said, getting up. I got up after her and nodded to Gaara and Temari. "We'll be back." Azamuku said.

We followed Kiba and his team out of the house and began running back to the leaf village. When we arrived, Azamuku was sent right to the Hokakage's house. "Azamuku. Thank you for coming on such short notice." He said. "Please. Join me on the balcony." He said. I watched her walk onto the balcony and looked over the village. "People of Konahagure!" He said, handing her an ear piece mic as well.

She put it on and smiled. "Over the years I have seen lives begin and lives end. I have seen festivities take place and I have seen people create new beginnings for themselves." He said. "I know my time here is not much longer so as to carry on the tradition, I am to choose the next hokage." He announced. "I am proud to present to you, Azamuku Chikara. You next Hokage." He said, placing the bamboo hat on her head. "What?" She said, looking at him.

As everyone clapped, she looked over the crowd. "I'm sorry. I cannot accept this. There is someone better and more worthy of this title." She had said. "Who would that be?" He asked. "Uzumaki Naruto. Can you please come up here?" She said. I watched Naruto run to the top and kneel before her. "Uzumaki Naruto." She began "I've known you since we were 13. You started out as a broken down ninja who cared about making it to the top." She said, smiling at him. "You trained yourself to near exhaustion and pushed yourself as far as Sasuke and I have." She continued

"You've grown up a lot since we were 13, Naruto." She said, smiling. "That is why I cannot accept this title. Please rise." She said to him. He stood to his feet. "People of Konahagure. I and proud to present to you your new Hokage." She said, placing the hat upon Naruto's head. "Uzumaki Naruto." She said. He pulled her into a tight hug. "Oh! Naruto be careful." She said as he eased up. "Thank you, Azamuku. I promise you, I won't let you down." He said.
